EU now will have to make a new law...
I hope EU will understand that you cannot keep up with giant tech companies...that ship is sailed
EU should have included all mobile devices including shavers, label makers, garden equipment, printers, torches, …
USB-C or death!

With front facing cameras, the AR effect will likely be even better.
If it’s anything like existing XR sets with cameras, it will be rather jarring, because you don’t get exactly the same perspective as with your eyes, you can’t actively focus the depths, and there’s a slight lag that tends to throw you off, along with motion blur for any quick movements. Lastly, 4K is still much lower than what the human eye can see. It is estimated that at least 8K per eye is needed to remove pixelation.

We are not anywhere near being able to produce a seamless interactive pass-through 3D experience.

When I first heard rumors that apple was working on an AR device, the Apple Watch was also just a rumor.

I wasn't interested in either. I'd stopped wearing watches in the 90s when I started carrying a cell phone in my pocket. And I stopped wearing glasses when I got Lasik in 2000. I had NO desire to go back to either. The rumors at the time had Apple building their device into normal looking eyeglass frames and somehow projecting images onto the eyeglass lenses, or directly onto your retina.

But the watch came out, and I got interested in that. I bought the second tier version with the titanium case and the sapphire crystal. It became part of my life, and over the years it has gotten better. The titanium case got scratched and so did the sapphire crystal. I upgraded to the third version and to the fifth version. I think I'm ready to upgrade again once the next version (9?) comes out. Or maybe I'll wait another year.

Meanwhile, I've developed astigmatism, which the Lasik folks won't fix because I still technically have 20/20 vision, and I'm getting older so my eyes don't focus close-up the way they used to. I'm back to wearing glasses. Bifocals.

And I like the idea of VR/AR. I bought an Oculus Go, which was fun, but not all that useful, and not that "real". I've been waiting for a quantum leap before I upgrade to anything new. I'm starting to think Apple's MR headset may be that leap. I'm looking forward to seeing what they present.

If you use it at home, why would you use a battery which will degrade with every circle. Why can't it be plugged in like a notebook? It would annoy me to change the battery after two hours.

The article states that the battery pack is about the sizes of an iPhone and has a USB-C socket to recharge it. The AC power delivery is to the pack. The pack delivers DC power. It would be non issue to just have a small circuit in the battery pack that just passed through AC-DC converted power when the battery had finished charging. Similar thing that would happen on an iPhone when using it plugged in while sitting at a desk. So yes, essentially like a Notebook/MacBook with a MagSafe cable.

The seperate battery pack should allow Apple to put in more than decent power management and battery recharge managment without having to worry about how much weight it will add to the headset. It doesn't have to be super simplistic to lower weight.

Could also put MagSafe battery pack connector on it also. So could just slap on an iPhone magsafe pack if want to move around for more than two hours without being tied down.

I'm deciding between the Reality Pro and LG's 77" G3 OLED. I'm leaning towards Reality Pro, as I cannot figure out how to wear a 77" screen in bed.

So...? What's the big deal here?
It’s MAC rumors. Hysteria’s home on the internet. All I can say is a lot of people on here have virtually perfect lives if this kind of thing is all they have to get indignant about lol!

Scuba goggles, special belt to wear battery pack that has a proprietary non-removable cable that connects to the scuba goggles like a dork, and then a USB-C port to connect your third party battery pack to this battery pack so you can actually get more than two hours of battery life. This thing has fail written all over it if it ships in this condition.

I’m having a hard time believing Apple would release such a terrible product with wires going everywhere, to be honest. This is too nerdy, niche and dumb for Apple IMO. If it launches in this state I have concerns about the long-term health of the company TBH. Seems to lack focus and clarity and I don’t see this being a trendy item that anyone would really want outside of tech geeks.
