Call me paranoid.
But why exactly would I want this rubbish, especially we just had another article the other day?

What? You don't want an unknowing, unthinking, unfeeling word-generator to tell you to consider losing weight with the sponsor of this chat, Wegovy by Novo Nordisk?

This is what I have wanted since becoming a daily user so bad. This would help my fitness and nutrition journey immensely.

I hate to be a broken record here but people apparently aren't reading the replies.

It is optional. You'd have to complete multiple steps to opt-in to this service. If you don't want it, don't spend time signing up for it.
Just imagining where we might all be in 2030 :)

Another case of Apple relying on someone else for AI

This is a blatant disregard of what AI truly is. Apple has been a pioneer in Machine Learning (ML) technology in consumer products for decades, long before ChatGPT took the world by storm.

The only segment where Apple has lagged behind — and for good reason — has been this new "Generative AI" segment of the much larger field of AI/ML.

It was Apple's own vision from back in the 90's — Knowledge Navigator — that the industry is racing to implement.

Had OpenAI not released ChatGPT yet, would Apple still be "behind"? We should appreciate that Apple is not wanting to release something until it's truly ready for mass adoption. We've all been witness to the embarrassing missteps that have taken place over the past 2 years.

As for Apple Health integration with ChatGPT... that strikes me as an odd development. Unless the data is sent completely anonymously, or to private servers managed by Apple, I don't see this happening.

The trick is to give false data like a daily intake of 12000 calories of your fast food of choice. See what plans it comes up with then. On a separate note, I can’t get AI to suggest sauces for human flesh, only cares about ethics when its not under scrutiny smh

I'm currently using both ChatGPT and Gemini, along with doing extra research, to help with my diet, supplements, and weight training. Specifically, I'm getting advice on when to take supplements and how far apart to take them from other things. It's been working really well! My blood test results from last month showed significant improvement; before, many levels were high/risky, but now everything is within the normal range.

Don't know how useful it will be. I think it might come as a part of iOS 27 and we will hear about it at WWDC 2026.

How? Instead of using a personal trainer, human being, you want to rely on a machine to tell you what to do?

You’re right they should spend $100b developing ANOTHER chatbot. Thats a great use of their cash on hand. 🙄

Apple's differentiator could be on machine AI that maintains user privacy. It could even connect to a remote AI server to get very specific data and load on the phone, tablet or Mac without revealing the user or their data. The actual analysis is done on the user's machine, and the cloud used only to get relevant data to support answering the user's query. The remote machine would know information was requested on a specific topic, but nothing else. If the user's queries are around a similar topic, then the on machine AI would get better and need to do less remote querying.

Sorry but eff that!!! No Mac app in years over security concerns (?) and now a hallucinating AI bot should get access to my health data!

I have been a happy Apple customer for 20 years, but with their recent moves they made some really weird choices.

This is not Apple, this is ChatGPT using the same feature any app can to have the data shared.

So don't sign up for it, pretty simple.
