They need something to complain about and to knock the Vision Pro to make themselves feel better.

They’ll be complaining here in the comments even after release and I’ll be busy not reading them while I’m wearing my Vision Pro 😊
Well to be fair, you won't be reading them on your Vision Pro because your battery will be dead. 🤣

Hey - wanna come over to my place. We can just hang out in my couch. I’ll wear this thing on my face that has an app making you look like someone else!

Man, Apple really hates discrete user accounts, even for $3500 devices.
It's not about hate or love. It's literally technically impossible for iOS to support multiple user without rewriting half the OS. If you are a developer this would be immediately obvious. Every single file, app, settings, and everything else is tied to a single icloud account. Every single first party app would literally break if it needs to support multiple users. Third party apps wont even run without virtualization.

And because they based visionOS off iOS instead of macOS, there will never be multi user support ever. Unfortunately.

You have to be fitted for a light seal but there’s a friends and family mode. I wonder if the mode requires buying additional light seals to activate.

You're telling me a $3 trillion company can't do discrete user accounts? I get that it's about ROI and Apple would prefer to have consumers feel they need to purchase a 2nd iPad, after all why would they spend money rewriting iOS if that means less hardware sales. So in that sense yeah I do feel Apple "hates," with the word hate having a business connotation here, discrete user accounts. That's why I've distanced myself from a lot of Apple's products, way too much dumbification that is just blindly accepted.

Hate would imply that this is something they can easily do, but they dont do it out of spite or they believe it is bad for the product. I'm saying it is likely neither. They probably is ok with the idea and think it's a reasonable feature but the technical hurdle is so enormous that they simply cant do it without sacrificing all other work. So even if AVP could potentially benefit from it, they just couldnt

most planes have plugs right at your seat.

Or maybe plug it into your seat like I plug in my MacBook Pro.

Or maybe not... Never found yet such "hi-tech" feature on low-cost companies planes in europe...

Sounds like a super spreader feature.
Maybe AVPs should come with special masks and sanitizer pads.
🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫
...otherwise apple will remove this "feature" in future updates

Again "hate" in this context is more like it's something that Apple won't do because it would affect their bottom line. My apologies for the wording, I just never thought someone would actually take that literally. It's a business decision pure and simple. It's not impossible, especially for a $3 trillion company, to incorporate something like discrete user accounts. They just choose not to do it because it would affect their business model.

I dont think so. It's not a cynical thing. Contrary to popular belief, apple became the most valuable company by building the best products, not by scamming every penny out of every user. It's just really incredibly difficult to implement multi icloud accounts support in iOS and there are other high priorities right now.

Oh I'm not being cynical, and convincing consumers they need multiple hardware devices isn't a scam, it's actually a damned good business strategy. It's why I'm happy as an Apple shareholder but as a consumer don't buy their products anymore.

Until Vision Pro efficiency (or amped up battery) can handle 6 hours on a plane, it’s a non-starter for most.
Why does everyone assume that you can’t connect a second generic battery pack to the Vision Pro? Doesn’t it just use a regular USB-C port?

Thou I don't like the concept of headsets; I do like the applications this will offer. Traveling is one of them. If the price is next generation, I buy it. especially for plane trips from Japan to Europe or the US etc.

You’re probably too young too remember the fat Mac and switcher. Of course Apple could do it if they wanted too. You’re thinking on the application level.

There are no reports of a usbc port directly on the device. The battery has one but Apple has not commented on it be pass through or not.

At least from photos the dev kit looks like it has an adapter from the magnetic connector to USBC that also powers the headset in wired mode. If that‘s included with the consumer model I would imagine a third party battery would work just as well.

Wonder if the Apple battery will have an ID chip like printer manufacturers use in their ink cartridges to prevent users from installing third party replacements?

Fantastic! More devices to make people TALK and INTERACT with each other even less!
