As soon as Microsoft supports this thing to be enrolled in enterprise management with Intune, then I can maybe ditch my MacBook and use those native apps. Until then, I still have to use my Mac for Teams...

Folks toting around folios of scratched CDs.

Folks fed up with the racket of having to buy a CD packed with filler # to get 1-2 good songs (the model which the iPod+iTMS really changed).

The equivalent problems solved by Vision Pro are...?

I play drums and piano, ride a bicycle, do woodworking, have made tens of thousands of photographs being a photographer, run, watch movies, listen to music, and on and on and on not to solve problems, but simply because it's enjoyable.

I can think of dozens of other things (just one example: explore 17,000 year old cave paintings in the caves of Lascaux from my living room) I could do with AVP simply because it would be enjoyable.

The above is just for personal enjoyment. There are many dozens of applications in the commercial/business world where AVP AR would help (and AR in general is already helping) in solving problems.

It just takes a wee bit of imagination.

My face is too cold and needs to be hugged by a heavy weight?

The problem with AVP for business users... is that generally speaking... Mac Hardware itself is just not business or enterprise friendly.

They just don't focus on that market anymore... no servers, support isn't great (or cut off, and then you have to spend what limited money you have buying replacements for relatively new hardware).

The business side requires solid, long term support... and repair/upgrade friendly hardware.

Apple dont do that, plain and simple. They target the consumer and prosumer at home. There's nothing wrong with that... it's a huge lucrative market. Just look at their website... they are not targeting business.
tons of businesses buy and provision apple products. My company provisions MacBooks, iPads, iPhone etc.. I think those days of apple not being enterprise friendly are from a long time ago.

Server market isn't really that profitable. Not sure what Apple could add there anymore so they're not in it.

Apple were more enterprise friendly in the past... and their older products were easily repaired and taken apart.

They need a separate Mac OS version which has more rigorous testing if they ever want to make corporate inroads. There is a reason every other OS in that area has a corporate version.

I work for a Fortune 500 and we have a “bring your own device” policy for Mac. Dead simple to install the needed corporate management apps on standard MacOS, no need for any special version.

Using my Mac for work is a far better experience than my old Dell. From the company perspective, aside from the initial setup, I don’t think I’ve contacted our IT support once about my Mac. This is in contrast to constant hardware / software support on my old Dell.

This is also my experience across large employers in multiple sectors. I haven't worked with a dev team in the past fifteen years where most -- if not all -- of us weren't on Macs.

Any business that gets on the Apple bandwagon will be severely hurt in the future when that bandwagon all of a sudden disappears, without warning or reason. Been there, done that.

Intune - the device management garbage produced by the same team who leaked primary keys.
FMICROSOFT.

So Apple is going to walk away from ~$40bn in sales a year (accretive)?
Okay.

For businesses there will be many use cases. For wide adoption among the general consumers, the price has to come down a lot.

All these constructive and productive examples; but just like with AirTags can’t help but wonder what the news for the more devious uses will be.

Practicing opening and getting into a bank vault or something.

I am definitely thinking of the right year. '61 was the year they got ugly.

MUCH nicer.
Well you are part of the 1-3% I would say.... congratulations. Although I don't mind the the '58-'60 they are not liked amongst the masses. So much so that it almost sunk the company as Robert McNamara almost did alway with the Lincoln brand all together due to the low sales... the '61 was a last ditch effort and it paid off and kept the brand going. If you surveyed 100 people I would say 97% or higher would say '61-'63 Lincolns were the most beautiful cars ever designed. But I get it.. to each their own. Just letting you know your opinion is not shared amongst the masses.

To each their own. Like I said I do not mind the '58-'60 but I would take our Fiesta Red '65 any day over a '58-'60 in any color. This is a California DSO (52 for Los Angeles) and my wife and I are the 4th owners.

I’m surprised the “omg, the price needs to be lower” people haven’t ambushed this thread yet.

Apple Vision Pro is not for some of you guys in a lower tax bracket. Leave it to us to fix the bugs and work out the kinks for your cheaper version in a few years.
The arrogance reeks with this one.

I could buy one every week without a sweat. It is a useless product and I and most others have little to no interest.

Ah. It reeks with this one but goes on to say I could buy one every week without a sweat. Okay, Richie Rich. Who’s really the arrogant one?
