A tech Company should not be to close to fashion INDUSTRY. Its like music INDUSTRY. I hate it. The watch idea is nice - and will progress over time but if they link it to close to designer fashion it will lose its appeal to those who themselves see as individualists.
Except that watches are quite closely linked to fashion in many instances, so it's only natural to take that into account.

And here is the new Apple logo! :)

Apple is getting more boring in its new hires as well as its new releases. Back in my early 20s when I was a lowly Specialist in the Apple store we got endless new managers who always began their welcome to Apple introduction with "Well I used to work at the Gap!" Google "the gapification of apple" if you don't believe me.

I always told new people who came in that the fastest way up the chain was out the door and down the mall right into the Gap.

I was a Cook fan until he hired John Browett, with that hire he showed he has serious weakness in top level appointments and this one doesn't fill me with confidence either.

I hope all these fashion icons can get the male Apple leadership to tuck their shirts in and get Phil Schiller into a pair of Spanx.

Yes. Yes. Yes. This thing of leaving their shirts untooked is so sloppy. Eddie Cue looked like a pimp with that shirt.

If only how shirts are worn or what kind of shirts they are somehow actually related to what that person is capable of and actually does.

While the Apple Watch is a companion notifier not just a watch, Apple sees that they are fighting for 'beach front property' on the wrist. The competition is NOT Samsung, but all the fashion time pieces. No one needs a watch to tell time. There are clock faces everywhere plus all phones, smart, or just feature. And a cheap watch is as good as the most expensive.

Think wrist not watch.

Think 'ear'. The next wearables, Headphones and earbuds, can do much more than transmit and receive sound. Apple will pursue this... I hope/guess. And again, style and fashion make or break.

:D :D I guess I was already there... when I first read your post I was cooking supper and glancing at posts and got it as "the next wearables, HEADBANDS and EARRINGS" -- and then I laughed at my mistake, but even now I'm back to thinking, hey, why not?!

Never said it did, but sloppy is sloppy.
And sloppy isn't really connected to anything in life. People might make a connection in their mind, but that's their own biases and prejudices at work, and essentially their own problem, so to say.
