Nike did the right thing getting their sorry a** out in the nick of time.
That fuel crap is such a flipping gimmick.
When this new medical , wearable swag drops from Apple only a hand full, and that's being generous, of players will be able to compete on a legit level.
Apple will have over $200 billion in the bank in less than a year.
Real money baby. All day.
Now give me my 5.x inch iPhone 6!!!!!!!!

While this is good for Apple I think they are going to create a paranoid, hypochondriac culture.

We are being assimilated! ;):D:apple:

FDA Approval?

Curious what the legal/regulatory implications would be for something like this. At what point does a product go from basic 'Fuelband' into the 'Medical Device requiring FDA approval' category? Depending on what the device actually does, there are also liability ramifications that Apple is no doubt considering ("This iThing was supposed to predict my heart attack. Why didn't it? Open up your vault Apple!")

Peace be with you.

heartattachgate

Receiving a push notification that you're about to have a heart attack may cause heart attacks. heartattackgate

Having had some scary experiences in accident and emergency (I have sinus tachycardia), I can concur that the visual and audible stimuli from the heart rate monitor makes your heart rate increase and in turn can make you really anxious! However, I would love this tech on a watch as the antiquated 24hr or 7day monitors they give you to catch an arrhythmia are a joke (you never have one on the day you wear the kit!).

I think a device like this will save lives, reduce medication and really provide doctors with accurate data to make better, more timely decisions. Bring it on!

Interesting but until there is a solid scientific prove for this, I will continue my exercise. Personally I don't take seriously every single rubbish I read on the internet or papers. Digging enough in the internet you may find that smokers or alcoholic persons may have longer healthy lifespan then non-smokers or non alcoholics. Doesn't take genius to know that's not true.

I'm not saying its bad to exercise, i'm just saying too much of it is bad for you. Just like eating too much of one type of food is bad for you. Having a variety is the best for our health and that's been proven.
