Apple today updated its homepage to honor Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away at Balmoral Castle earlier today. The company's website features a photograph of Queen Elizabeth taken by Dorothy Wilding in 1952.

Queen Elizabeth II was 96 years old, and her reign lasted for over 70 years, marking the longest reign of any British monarch. Her son, Charles, is her successor and is now King Charles III. In a statement, Charles III said that the Queen's death will be "deeply felt throughout the country, the Realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world."

God bless the UK and the Commonwealth.

RIP Queen Elizabeth II.

Looks like Jony Ive didn’t get to meet the Queen when he became Sir Jony…

“The ex pupil of Walton High School and the man behind the iconic design of the iMac, the iPod, the iPhone and the iPad was honoured at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace by Princess Anne.”

She was a truly outstanding woman and an inspiration to many. Humble, funny, strong and a steadying influence on the country and wider planet. She has devoted over 7 decades of her life serving.

She was a monarch, Mum, grandmother and sooo much more. RIP Queen Elizabeth and thanks for everything you have done, thoughts are with the Family.

My mother passed away a month ago. There was always symbolic about the Queen especially being the head of state from a commonwealth country I’m originally from. My mother sometimes recollected seeing her when she was a little girl. There is just something about both women that I always thought would be around for a long time. RIP Queen of Jamaica.

Sorry for your loss. May your mother rest in peace as well

I had a feeling Apple would make this touching tribute. Good for them. The most famous woman in the world will be missed by millions. There’s not much in Britain to be proud about these days, but she was the most perfect and dignified monarch we could have hoped for.
