Rest in peace? What is present in life before our arrival (birth) and after our departure (death) is our soul. What proof do we have that we as a soul could be restless and un-peaceful? The soul is eternally at peace, but its reflection, the individual, is peaceful at times and unpeaceful at others.
Stress and it’s effect on the human body is the proof that the soul sometimes and oftentimes is not truly at peace

I think your adoration and love for the queen makes you a royalist…

There are people that despise the monarchy but still respected and loved the queen. She sounds like an amazing person. She was the product of an earlier time, and had both the respect, and respected her subjects. In many ways she was in a cage, a gilded one, but a cage none the less. Her single look or movement could have an effect on the nation, and the commonwealth. She had power but also did not abuse it (at least that we know) and was, unfortunately, surrounded by some people that could have done a better job in private, and appeared tone deaf at times.

I think, given her position, her power, she knew her limits and acted within a narrow lane. I wonder how many people in politics now could/would be as restrained. It will be interesting to see if King Charles can be as decent and restrained. Stay tuned...

People are tired of this. The Queens loyal "subjects". You do know about Andrew & Charles right... I don't think the word decent applies to what they have already done.

But she finally did something about him (Andrew). It will be interesting if Andrew oozes out of the background a lot more. As for Charles; he's been given immense power now, and I wonder if he knows it. He has the power, now, to sour the world on the monarchy based on what he does, and does not do.

In a way the whole thing has been a public family issue, and warts and all played out largely in broad daylight (and in the courts).

Who has a family without drama? I've disowned and been disowned by family members. I'd hate for it to be made public, or played out on tawdry TikTok or YouTube vids, but family drama is common. Granted Andrew really jumped the shark on it, but 'the family', or what some call 'the corporation' is at it's root, like any other family. And I'm not saying anything in a way to defend or persecute members of 'the corporation'. They have enough problems upcoming.

People that aren't for the monarchy are complaining that things are going to be closed down Monday, others are planning to spend their whole day immersed in their, and the nation's grieving. I remember being grounded in Dallas because, according to the pilot 'We couldn't get wheels up soon enough, and there is a presidential flight restriction in effect for the next hour or so. Sorry for the delay folks, we had hoped to get out of here before it kicked in', and some openly complained, and others were gawking out the windows hoping to catch a glimpse... *shrug*
