Apple should be giving their support to help kids afflicted with leukemia.
You said:

Frankly I am disgusted with your post.
I'm in favor of curing kids who got cancer through just being alive. AIDs can be prevented by safe sex and not sharing needles.

If we're comparing numbers, let's expand curing leukemia to curing cancer in general. Such a cure would save tens of millions of lives:

Each year globally, about 14 million people learn they have cancer, and 8 million people die from the disease. Research suggests that one-third of cancer deaths can be prevented, but sometimes services and technologies are not widely available, especially in low- and middle-income countries.
Many of the same problems with preventing HIV also apply to preventing deaths from cancer. Why are those people less deserving of Apple's support?

Im disgusted that you think one is worthy, and one isn't..... because you seemingly seem to think that people with AIDS or HIV have brought it on themselves? There's 1.8 million kids out there who may disagree that they could have prevented having AIDS/HIV by practising safe sex or needle sharing.

As I said earlier, children born with HIV are like crack babies: suffering with the consequences of their parents' bad behavior.

AIDs is almost entirely spread by bad behavior.

Seems that if you're just going to pick one charity to support, curing cancer would be a better choice.

Gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (MSM) of all races and ethnicities remain the population most profoundly affected by HIV.
Incidents of HIV could be greatly reduced simply by practicing safe sex

Most gay friends I know are always actively encouraging safe sex within their own community and openly acknowledging that they are the largest carriers of HIV. And that is certainly true in the west where HIV is much less common than it used to be thankfully.

But globally, Africa has a major issue with HIV among people of all sexual orientation.

I am absolutely disgusted that this is still considered a political issue.

"Absolutely disgusted?" Ah, that reminds me of:

"I strenuously object?" Is that how it works? Hmmm? "Objection!" "Overruled." "Oh, no, no, no. No, I STRENUOUSLY object." "Oh. Well, if you strenuously object then I should take some time to reconsider." - Lt. Weinberg from "A Few Good Men"

Actually, you're the one with selective comprehension, as what follows will amply illustrate:

What I said is that AIDs can be prevented by safe sex and not sharing needles. The children born with HIV are like crack babies: saddled with the consequences of their parents' bad behavior.

Kids with leukemia, and people with cancer in general, get cancer just by living, so their behavior is generally not what caused their disease.

@sim667 made the issue one of numbers, so I pointed out that cancer is far more prevalent and that many more die of it each year compared with HIV.

And here we come to that selective comprehension problem of yours: I mentioned gays not once. Why did you bring them up? Is it that you associate unsafe sex and needle sharing with gays? That's pretty prejudiced.

He called my post disgusting when all I'd said was that AIDs can be prevented by not indulging in risky behavior, whereas kids with leukemia can't do anything to prevent their disease, and so Apple should support curing leukemia at least.

Here's where you mentioned gays

Limited dollars for research. Cancer hits kids and young people through no fault of their own.

Whereas, according to the CDC:

Gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (MSM) of all races and ethnicities remain the population most profoundly affected by HIV.
Incidents of HIV could be greatly reduced simply by practicing safe sex.

Apple should be giving their support to help kids afflicted with leukemia.

You are trying to apply your 1st world education to a third world problem. We are talking about people who haven't got a clue they have the disease, who don't have access to testing, who are so deeply religious they won't use condoms or are told by senior politicians that they won't get HIV if they wash after sex. There is a myth (frankly incomprehensible to our ears) that having sex with a virgin cures HIV and other STIs. The result? A young girl gets raped and contracts HIV. As does the child she gives birth to as a result.

Africa isn't some hot bed of carefree orgies and sinful indulgence. It is a place that desperately needs educating.

Nobody is trying to argue that leukaemia is not a worthwhile cause. Apple give loads of money to other charities - it's just the (RED) campaign was set up specifically to market red coloured products to raise money. That's how the charity operates.

As for cancer "just happening", while leukaemia does, there are plenty of cancers such as lung, liver, bowel, colon cervical that can be as a result of lifestyle.

Absolutely incorrect. It is the story that is oxymoronic: "Discoverer" of "HIV", which has never been isolated, states "HIV" is "harmless". The whole "AIDS" narrative is like Swiss cheese.

It has been isolated multiple times.

You put forth untruths. Dr. Ettiene de Harven, the first scientist to isolate and produce an electron micrograph (photo) of a retrovirus states the following:

"No, I do not think that HIV exists because I have never seen any acceptable scientific proof of its existence, especially in AIDS patients. All the claims to the contrary are opinions based on identification of so-called markers for HIV, all of which have been found to be non-specific to HIV. These non-specific markers include the enzyme reverse transcriptase (RT) and the antigen p24 which are commonly believed to be HIV specific but are in fact not.

Moreover, since so-called HIV has never been purified (even according to HIV's original discoverer, Dr. Luc Montagnier), its specific RNA has never been actually identified nor sequenced. 'Viral loads' measured after PCR amplification are therefore not scientifically acceptable as the RNA or DNA they measure is only assumed to be specific genetic components of HIV, but have never been properly identified as such."

I will accept his word over yours.

The HIV genome (and genome of variants) has been described for over a decade. It has been published and is publicly accessible for anyone to use for research.

I'd stick to the vague conspiracy theories be try not to stray into objective claims that are easily demonstrated false.

"HIV" is the vague conspiracy theory. And it may have been described - as you wrote - but it has never been isolated, and has therefore never been proven.

I love it how you shills play tag team. The cat's out of the bag, and no matter what you do you'll never get it back in.

So children deserve to pay for their parents mistakes?

No. But as I said, AIDS is almost entirely spread through bad behavior. If resources are so tight that only one charity can be supported, I'd think leukemia would be the pick.

But I'd also accept a charity that helped kids afflicted with diseases they got from their parents.

Shills? So you assume anyone who bothers to refute your claims only do so because they're being paid by Big Pharma to astroturf tech websites?

I've made no claims - only cited factual references. Tech sites are not immune to concerted government propaganda being posted by those whose job it is to promote social engineering memes.

And the "facts" speak for themselves. The founder of Alive and Well, died of HIV as did her 3 year old daughter she infected. Sadly neither are even remotely alive and well. That that fact alone hasn't given you pause for thought speaks volumes.

I've already addressed this. The tag team strikes again.

I still don't think you understand. To reiterate: the creator of the HIV denial website Alive and Well is dead from HIV. The glaring contradiction couldn't be more vivid.

Perhaps deadandsick.org would be a more appropriate HIV denial domain.

As previously stated (you really should do your research), I have interviewed both Christine Maggiore (before she was murdered by her doctor and Big Pharma) and Robin Scovill - the producers of "The Other Side of AIDS". So I am very much up to speed with her story. You state that she died of "HIV" - but you have no proof. I remain convinced that she was murdered, and so was her daughter.

RED isn't trying to help kids who got the diease from their parents - it's trying to stop them being born with it I the first place.

Unlike leukaemia where the number of sufferers is fairly regular, with this being a communicable disease it can be dealt with fairly easily through education and medical resources we completely take for granted in the developed world. On the flip side, if it isn't addressed, it continues to get worse.

As I've said before, the "bad behaviour" you talk about, a lot of the time is actually:

People not knowing about or understanding HIV/AIDS

Husbands not knowing they are affected sleeping with their wives infecting them and the child

Husbands in denial doing as above

Rapists

Leukaemia is horrid. My cousin's 7 year old son, Ted had his last round of chemo in August and touch wood the treatment has worked.
