I was right there with you...until your last two sentences. So, your logic is that because you said Marvel movies were crap (which was then followed by Scorcese and Coppola), then this view is representative of the world? Did you miss how glaringly popular these films are with the general population and just how much they’ve made?
Likewise, you say shows like ‘Friends’ are forgettable? Really? Really? I can’t speak for the country of its inception, but here in the UK, Friends has just been crowned as the most streamed show for the past year - again. No mean feat given it stopped production what, 15 years ago?
I think Apple might know what they’re doing here. Certainly more so than Mr Dee anyway...
We'll see, but friends is overrated, just like this is overrated and you just part of over hype machine. We have a tendency to be sheep to everything that is popular and not necessarily of any substance. Unfortunately, you got caught by the hyper machine trap. Also, my view is representative of a large portion of the world. Because Friends represent a bunch of people living in New York where most people in New York couldn't even afford to live their lifestyle. So, your logic is that because you said Marvel movies were crap (which was then followed by Scorcese and Coppola), then this view is representative of the world? Popularity and substance are two different things. Fast food is popular, doesn't mean its good for you.Based on what you’re saying, it seems like Apple’s streaming tv service is going to be a huge success.

Have you noticed most of the cast of Friends have not even found much success beyond the show? Jennifer Anniston hair and her relationship with Brad Pitt is pretty much what has kept her relevance.

The previews should give you some idea who the three primary characters are. I could tell you, but I don’t want to deny you the experience of seeing for yourself.Yeah it feels like an odd choice they focus so much on the star power, when I should be more interested in what kind of CHARACTERS they play. But so far all their marketing has been based on who they CAST to play whatever characters. I still have no idea what the show is.
It doesn’t work that way. Steaming rights are different than sale rights. Ex: new albums aren’t always available to stream on Apple Music, but are available to purchase in iTunes.the one thing which would elevate you above the rest would be to make deal with Film and TV Companies similar to Netflix and Amazon Prime , and Offer your ENTIRE iTunes Library for people to watch. in a similar system to Apple Music..
So then its already over? Well there goes my hopes for an apple tv announcement. Guess I wait til marchThe event was tonight (Monday) at 5:30pm it was a private premiere.
Work for Apple by any chance? I've been in the TV and Media business for over 30 years so I may know a little more about how the industry works than you assume.
How did you get early access to watch the show?Wonderful ! so Apple Can Witness how truly awful this program stands. Apple JUST BECAUSE you Have big Name actors does NOT mean you can best people like Netflix. you will always be the bottom of the rung. the one thing which would elevate you above the rest would be to make deal with Film and TV Companies similar to Netflix and Amazon Prime , and Offer your ENTIRE iTunes Library for people to watch. in a similar system to Apple Music.. only THEN will you be of worth spending the money for !.....rant over ;-)
Netflix has TONS of garbage content and most of the good stuff they don’t even own.Wonderful ! so Apple Can Witness how truly awful this program stands. It's all about taste big guy, and if Apple's keynotes have anything to do it with it then they have bad taste!!! Get me?!??!?!Then why would you suggest this has anything to do with the quality of Apple's keynotes, which are created by the Apple Marketing department?
New TV shows usually always have a big premiere event. This is nothing new.Wow, are we going to have "events" for every new show now? How about a new song?
I totally agree but there are people out there that may just watch because they are big fans of the stars. At the end of the season, we will see if it is a success or not.In the streaming game, money and star power doesn't matter as much - good story and characters are paramount for success.
The current lineup of shows coming out have not piqued my interest enough to sign up for the 1 week trial. Is anyone else absolutely uninterested in apples shows?
Well it's a good thing Apple itself isn't creating any of their television content then, they're the distributor. The content creators for Apple TV+ shows are independent production companies who then pitch the shows to networks/streaming companies. And those companies decide if they want to buy the show. Echo Films and Hello Sunshine are the creators of The Morning Show. Just goes to show how little you know about how television is actually made.
Interestingly I just a very positive review of this here in Australia...
If they want people to sign up (subscribe to TV+), then it absolutely matters if the content is good or not.
Why would I (or anyone) pay good money for bad content?
