Apple iLife '09 Available at Best Buy Today, Apple Stores Tomorrow

Apple announced this morning that iLife '09 will start becoming available on January 27th at Apple retail stores and Apple Authorized retailers. Several readers, however, have been able to pick up early copies at local Best Buy stores. One reader details that you must simply ask for in-store pickup if available:

I'm an inventory manager at Best Buy and we should be getting today. Some of the east coast stores already have it. Go to www.bestbuy.com, type in ILIFE 09 in the search bar, add the item to your cart and pick STORE PICKUP and then search by state. Maine has some already and Penn.

UPS or fedex normally arrives between 10am and 12pm, so call you stores and have them check with their inventory dept to receive this product asap.

iLife '09 brings major updates to iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand and is priced at $79.

I Just Picked It Up!!

Hey Everyone-

I just picked up and am installing iLife '09. I picked it up at the Best Buy in Tustin, Ca. They had 3 for sale. I'll give you guys an update after the installation is complete and I have a chance to play around. I can tell you the size of the install is over a gig...I think 1.6-ish (could be wrong). Happy Monday!! wOOt!!!

The install will take approximately 2 hours to dl. Dayummmm......

Huh. True enough. I might pick up a family pack this evening. About 1/3 of the Twin Cities stores have it in stock.

Looking forward to some of you's sharing your experiences/views/impressions on this new line of software. Only then, will I fork out money. Might just get the box set, only a few quid extra.

Am I the only one finding this strange - surely Apple should be selling this in their stores first and then other retailers.

Actually I googled OS X torrent, downloaded it and it was infected with I-Life '09

Kidding of course, I will wander over to BB or Apple store this week and pick one up!

Speaking of Best Buy, how long does it usually take for them to get new hardware in? I'm interest in the new 13" macbook that came out last week and wanted to take advantage of BB's 18 months/0% interest deal they have going on this week. I went today and they didn't have any and the person I spoke with had clue about what I was talking about.
Do they usually get new hardware when its first released?

No such thing as an iLife upgrade. Every box is the full version.

"iLife and Extras" is on the other disc you got with your Mac.
