Don't they know when you registered your computer? When you get a new mac and start it up you have to registered it at that time, dont' you?

You're not forced to register, although obviously Apple would prefer that you did.

As for the original question, let's keep it legal :)

Because it's a lot of money and if I had bought exactly the same computer a few days later I would of got it. I cancelled the friggin order OK. free 'again'? explain?

thats horrible logic. like me saying i buy alot of dvd's so i should get one free every now and then.

keep in mind that if it truly was bought only a few days earlier, you can take it back within the return period. though i believe youd have to pay the restock fee of like 10% which would be more expensive than the retail price of the software anyways. keep in mind when you bought the comp, you were obviosly ok with what it came with at that time. also keep in mind, its not as if the old software doesnt just stop working either

concerning free 'again': what i meant was "why do you think you are entiled to getting something free, again". wasnt saying you had before, just how i wrote the statement. i suppose i didnt have to put 'again' in the sentence to have the same meaning that i was trying to say

i guess i dont quite get how people develop this sense of entitlement just because they spend alot. for example, ive spent 10's of thousands on university and never expected say free books (a relatively low cost in comparison to the tuition for a class) for even one course lol
