They should patent something that if the iPhone detects alcohol on your breath, the message will be undeliverable until the next morning. Then you won't need the edit feature at all.

God I wish...

Or SIRI could actually be useful for once- “it’s 3am. Are you sure you want to text your EX?”

Search has worked flawlessly since iOS 13. Before, it was pretty bad.
Has it?
Search for a word within a message and the narrow it down to a date/message you were thinking of.
Now try the same thing with WhatsApp.

I could be misunderstanding, but the idea of being able to go and edit a message you sent sounds dumb... i cant remember how many times I’ve looked through past conversations to show someone what they told me (if they claim to have never said something).

Seems 5 years late but I guess better late than never? Oh wait the feature STILL doesn’t exist. I barely use iMessage because it’s missing so many basic features. Especially being able to quote/reply to a message, which I would say is more important then editing personally.

Humm, seems like someone was sending their late-night text to their significant others to their mother by accident.

Instead of editing posts, I’d like to see a feature where your texts can be indexed into individual conversations. Select texts and put them into a Labeled Conversation. Then after opening the Messages app, when you see your list of conversations, long press the conversation to see a list of sub-conversations that are labeled for reference.

Sort of like Photos Shared Albums. Select your pertinent text bubbles and send
to the subject you choose.

Too many times I wanted to revisit a specific conversation with someone but have to scroll through mountains of text to find it. And doing a search works to a point but is still time consuming.

That’s the general idea. I know it needs a lot more thought and tweaking.

Sorry, I don’t have time to read the article yet.

How about adding the ability to quote a message in the the conversation? Why isn’t that feature available? Or has it been and I didn’t notice?

So, MacRumors is incorrect then? They also seem to think this has everything to do with editing iMessage messages.

In MR’s defense, MR typically just reports articles from news sources, massages the wording and attaches a hyperlink back to the actual source for legal attribution.

This will be horrible. Imagine all the psycho women out there that will edit their messages in secret to try and mind f*CK their boyfriends into submission every month. Let the mind games commence!

lol, all about the consumer then right. Which is what Apple say is most important to them.
I think they mean that *their* consumers are important, not Android consumers.

Apple dropped the ball big time with groups FaceTime and allowed zoom to take over.
Everyone dropped the ball on it, and Zoom picked it up. They can make video chat just work when all these (formerly) trillion-dollar companies can't. I think part of it is that they didn't try to lock people into an ecosystem.
