Just watched it too. Unbelievable. You are there. I mean THERE. This is it. This is the killer experience. And I don’t even watch soccer. Now, full games. All games. Every sport. Just like this. Concerts. Theatre. Hell…Congress. I’ve never once regretted buying the VP…and after watching this, the notion is laughable.

A tease for future content that isn’t happening anytime soon if at all. Presently we’re lucky when we can see sports in 4k. There’s just no audience for this.

1. Who doesn’t have sports in 4K?
2. Anyone who is a big sports fan (usually of a single particular sport) would love this if they can't get to the game.

I'm thinking Darts! 🎯😃

Seriously, any field sports where you never get to see the movement of players ahead of the game because you’re tied to the broadcasters camera angle, this would be crazy good.

Would they though? Sports tends to be a social event. This rips that away to an extent. I just can’t imagine getting the boys around to watch via our headsets.
I don’t doubt it’s a great experience but I can’t see it being more than a novelty.

I think there is room for it. One of the best experiences I have watching an AFL match in person is seeing the play 100m ahead of play. Something you can’t get watching the idiot box.

I take your point about watching sport can, and often is a social event. And you’re right, and I can’t see getting the boys around with headsets. However, equally you can 'get the boys around' when they are in different parts of the country. Having a friend on a 'watch party' is dead boring. Doing it in a more fluent and animated way, such as the AVP would be so much more fun.

This is the first new piece of immersive content since the VP launched… for real Apple? Like, no new episodes of any of their immersive shows have come out. It’s been almost 2 whole months since launch. I’m not understanding their content release schedule/strategy with this.
I think they expected a bigger third party response.

Amazing content. Too short. But a great proof of concept. This will change sports viewing.

When I can get full length NFL football games, I'll pay good money for them.

Imagine if they could set this up so you could virtually sit center court, ringside for your favorite tennis matches, basketball, football games, etc. How many people would buy one to watch those?

Got to find some way to make AFL enjoyable I guess

I haven’t tried it so I can’t say I wouldn’t but the idea of it isn’t making me want to drop $5k Au or whatever it equates to.

I have the PS5 VR and would like to experience something like this just for the heck of it. Any one aware of anything like this for it? Heck, I'd even watch cricket if that is what it takes. 😄
If the rumored PC support happens, I can see something like this coming to it. Otherwise, Sony’s support of the headset has been lackluster. I feel like I have seen an VR NBA app or something similar for the 1st gen PSVR but I could be wrong.

Haven't heard that rumor, but makes sense. It is incredible hardware that just isn't being taken advantage of with the exception of a few games. They need to either offer better support on their own platform, or open it up to the Windows community like they do with their controllers.

I think you are right with the 1st gen PSVR, I could be wrong, but I think those were limited proof of concepts rather than an actual service. I remember watching some music videos/concert performance that was pretty cool back in the day.

Also opening it up is the way legislation and anti competitive law is trending. Apple should become a hardware developer first and simmer a bit on the services side. Thats what got them in to trouble in the first place.
