Something that is desperately needed. Unless you spell the app name exactly correct, it rarely finds what I'm looking for.

The same happens in Apple Maps. The problem is even worse as street names can have complex spelling over here in Europe, with prefixes, dashes, accents, ... Google always finds immediately what I'm looking for while Apple either returns No results found or a location on the other side of the world.

I wish that Apple could fix their iOS an MAC OS X issues. They really have to stop pushing betas out to everyone. For example Apple Music is so disorganized, and my search for contacts on my iPhone stopped working on IOS 9.

Totally agree, i can never find anything i want to.

In the end i just google what i am trying to find, then it takes me to it in the App store. Shouldn't have to do it this way, but it works.

This is the way to do it!
Most of the time you get the reviews at the same time.
You can also weed out all the LITE versions of the same app.

Apps with in app purchases should have their own section, so we can exclude them.

Call me old fashioned, but when I buy something I want to be done.

It would be great if they could show more search results on a single page when searching, the fact you can literally see 1.5 results per page and have to scroll like a madman is a shame and means finding new apps can take a while.

I love the App Store search algorithm and their "For You" recommendations. Better than Windoze ghost town App Store and Android's fragmented junk store

As a developer having apps on the AppStore I find the new 'better' search quite dreadful. How can crapware rank higher than content-rich apps?

Here's some things I believe would help a lot:

- Ignore keywords on long titles. We all have seen this: an app with a short 'icon' name on the device and a lengthy spammy title on the App Store. Penalise them!

- Utilise Engagement data + Ratings + How the applications site ranks on search engines for their high density keywords. Am I the only one that thinks that by itself would improve search results?

Anyway, it won't happen any time soon...

Yes. The company was called Chomp.

There are a variety of factors which contribute to how apps are ranks on iPhone and iPad. There is one particular graphic I found (http://www.disruptnewmedia.com/2016...les-app-store-search-rank-algorithm-revealed/) that best describes how this new search algorithm for iOS works.

Thanks! A bit of info that is helpful.

btw - search results are still as bad as my last post in this thread in Nov 2015. At least that hasn't changed :D
