What about if you go to someones house and they've only got a cd player? I really just don't get why you would want to pay for music you don't get to keep?

I'd agree that there's no benefit to having higher quality music if you can't hear the difference, but you'd have to have a pretty crappy sound setup to not hear the difference between Spotify and iTunes 256kbps AAC: It sounds far superior on anything I've listened to it with (and that includes doing blind tests with the same track from spotify and iTunes)So theres no real benefit to having higher quality music unless you've got a really high quality sound card and speakers on your pc![]()
I use spotify primarily for exploring new artists/bands. It's fantastic to be able to listen to full songs and entire albums. Also, invariably if I like what I hear I typically switch over to iTunes to buy it.

I would certainly agree that iTunes 256kbps AAC is much superior to Spotify's free 160kb Ogg Vorbis streaming.
Spotify's premium paid service streams at 320kbps Ogg Vorbis, however, which would be very close in quality to iTunes. This is a fairer comparison than comparing the free streaming - you paid for those iTunes tracks, after all.

Oh god, please let Google get it so i can still get music for free.
Hey Google! Stick to being the world's best search engine and great free email host, and keep your grubby little "sell my info to the highest bidding mass marketer" fingers out of everything else.
Remember what youtube was like before Google got their hands on it? Now I have to deal with those damn pop-up banner ads on every stinkin clip they have. And this crap where they search through the cache on my browser and try to locate my isp's router so they can show me "localized ads" annoys me too.
I'd much rather see them buy Adobe.
You still get pop-ups ? Your browser must be very badly configured.
As for IP geolocation, what does it matter really ? Google aren't the only ones doing it, and it doesn't really give away any details about you at all, unless you're logged into iGoogle and they can actually associate your IP with something meaningful.
As for going through your browser cache... er... use a browser without exploits that permits that kind of thing.
Since I live in the U.S., I can't try Spotify. It looks really cool though.
