WTF, this is ridiculous. I don't know if anyone's aware of this but since the economical crisis the Euro has only risen in value.

during the crisis 1 dollar was € 0,86 now it's back to € 0,77 and continuing to rise.

if anything they should be LOWERING the prices instead in increasing!

1 U.S. dollar = 0.773335396 Euros now so one track should be € 0,76

Let's use a different analogy. If Final Cut Pro X sells for $300 (€232) and once you add tax sells for €270 on most European app stores, how come product Z sells for $329 (€254) yet sells in Europe for €339?

I have no idea, but maybe different countries have different operating costs? Maybe some currencies aren't to be trusted so Apple are playing it safe? Maybe somebody isn't out to get you?
I'm not sure.

Yet different products have different comparable prices, no constant exchange rate across products.

Also prices for Apple products are more expensive outside the US even when taking into account taxes. Some of these are digital products which should not have much of a price differential. E.g itunes movies and music

I just paid the equivalent to 18 dollars for Mass Effect 3 Limited Edition for PC in Origin store. I don't think that is expensive...

Nope. That's not expensive.
I'm only saying that iOS games are cheap in general – even after the recent increase in price.

----------

That's not actually true. iOS studios are rarely as profitable as their console/PC counterparts.
And those prices aren't steep; it's iOS and mobile that's cheap. Cheaply developed time-wasters, by small teams with small budgets. They're not your multi-million dollar development projects. They're not designed to be. Big games continue to break records (especially preorders) because people like buying big, expensive, full quality experiences.

– I didn't say anything about the profitability of iOS studios vs. console/PC counterparts.
– You say that iOS and mobile games are "cheaply developed time-wasters, by small teams with small budgets. I don't want to pick that fight. I'm only saying that iOS games are cheap in general – even after the recent increase in price.
– And about those "big games and record breaking sales" – that's not the discussion I'm having.

dollar goes down nothing happens, dollar goes back up, prices increases

Great, when the dollar went from 6 to 5 "Danish kroner" nothing happend price stayed the same, now when it goes back up to 5.8, the price rices... Great... thank you for screwing me both ways Apple

Apple is the same as a feminist. They only want change for their benefit. When it's the other way around, it's a no go and tough ****.

Whether you agree with such policies is another matter, but it does the most for the share holders. Tim, the magical bean counter, must be making all the share holders very happy.

Hmm.
We're still getting really cheap quality software. Have any of you tried to buy a digital download on Wii or PS3, lately? Or how about a game on physical media? Now, those prices are steep.
If you didn't want to talk about them, why did you bring them up?

Absolutely agree, i didn't see Apple reduce the price the last few years when the EU was down. This is pure profiteering now the rate is hitting the same kinda place/price that it was back in 2011. Shameless.

That said, apple have not increased the price against the £ - so another good reason for the UK having control of its own monetry policies.
