Maybe you could learn some new languages like the rest of us and you wouldn't have to always rely on omni-dominate Google daddy to cut corners for you, just a thought. 😁
How does that invalidate his point? He's part of the 1% who likes AI.
I'm old school, I can't stand the crappy quality of AI. Until it can give me reliable results, I have no use for it. Would you want to drive a car that starts only 5% of the time and moves in a direction other than they one you want?
I do. I rarely use digital assistants. But constantly fiddling with genmoji for one reason or another.
But I don’t think it’s the main point, drawing is a fun capability of gen ai.
Life would be so much better without words that have "...moji" in them.

I never claimed it invalidated his point. Just pointing out what I observe here in the comments.
Dominant market leader that stopped innovating and failed to keep up with changes in the industry. Really not much of an exaggeration.
Really? With 1+ Billion active and repeat customers continuing to purchase Apple products year after year after year? And manufacturing and selling roughly 600,000 iPhones per day (on the average) every day of the year.
The above speaks to Apple being one of the most successful consumer tech companies in the world.

I could be wrong here, but vaguely remember hearing something because siri doesn't spy on you like the competitors do? Take the word "spy" lightly because im sure there is more to it than that.
Combining two genmojis doesn't even make sense as a apple intelligence feature. There's a large but definitely finite number of combinations of 2 emojis (assuming it really is a 2 emoji limit), and having AI blindly take a stab at combining them seems like a bad user experience (vs having them be pre-drawn by human designers @ apple)
Well if you believe they under deliver there are other manufacturers that hopefully don’t in your eyes.
However, maybe the average Apple consumer doesn’t believe they overcharge and under deliver.
At this point there are numerous AI projects maturing by the minute. It might be quicker for Apple to have one of those generate its AI backbone! And while they are at it tell it rewrite the piece of garbage they call a music manager/player. That should take it all of 10 minutes

Probably won't fix the horrible keyboard mess they have going ... but damn, we can make a childlike emoji since we are all 9 years old.
A few smaller-scale Apple Intelligence enhancements will be announced at WWDC 2025 next week, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.
One planned upgrade that had not been reported until now is the ability to create a Genmoji by combining a pair of existing standard emoji. For example, Gurman said that you will be able to turn separate basketball and trash can emoji into a single Genmoji that shows a basketball going into a trash can.
He also expects iOS 26 to include an upgraded Shortcuts app powered by Apple Intelligence, and a new AI-powered battery mode, as he previously reported.
In addition, he said there will be system-wide Translate app capabilities on iOS 26. 9to5Mac previously reported that the Messages app would be gaining live translation capabilities, but Gurman said it will extend to the Phone app and other areas of the operating system. A live translation feature is also expected for AirPods.
Waiting on Apple's delayed personalized Siri features to launch? Don't get your hopes up next week, as Gurman said that those features remain "far off." He does not expect any significant new Siri features to be announced at WWDC 2025.
What happened to Swift Assist, the coding assistance tool that Apple announced at WWDC 2024? Gurman said it faced issues, so Apple instead plans to let developers use Xcode with third-party large language models (LLMs).

Apple made this bed themselves. They ignored Siri for years while everyone else moved ahead, and now they’re trying to patch up something that’s basically ancient history. Cook really dropped the ball on this one.
Yes, and Blackberry was the dominant market leader for a number of years too, but basically collapsed when they were late to the party when the smartphone revolution came along. I don't think you realize how quickly things can change in this industry.
