Guess this is one way to make sure you get more feedback on your bug-ridden software. Guess not enough people were giving feedback before so they introduced "points".

👍
Very much like the medals I get on my Apple Watch U2 when I apparently do well exercise wise…

If it gave me discounts on my health insurance it would be great.
But a pretty picture of a virtual medal is honestly awfully childish, IMHO. (Though I do realise some people really like them.)
Some health insurance you can get a discounted apple watch + cheaper insurance by opting into all the health stuff. Apple doesn't run insurance so that wouldn't be on them though.

Bash points systems all you want, but a look at Apple Support Communities will demonstrate how they matter to a lot of people. There are numerous threads where the first response is a generic answer regurgitating an Apple help topic page, from a level 10 with 90000 points. It's as though users are lying in wait for the moment to strike a new thread. Half the time their answers aren't related.

You want me to believe that the reason some AI features are not being made available on day 1 and are being pushed out to 2025 is not because Apple is behind on AI? 🤣

Oh, I know... Apple doesn't want to roll out all their AI features at once so as to not overwhelm and confuse the user with all the new iOS 18 features. 😂

I haven't heard about this new business strategy where a company delays a new product launch even though it's ready.

Have you used AI? Have you used the 18 beta?

Besides Apple being well known for not being first to market, AI is already proving to be a bubble of sorts. It’s a smart enough roll out

Have proofreading in realtime toggle. It’s great for those fat finger times. It can get annoying sometimes highlighting everything then tapping proofread can get annoying every time imo

Already not impressed. It has highlighted various email messages as important. Problem is they are USPS expected delivery date emails I get frequently and do not really care about most of the time and nothing in the messages indicates they are important. Siri is slightly better but nothing stands out so far.
Did you use your feedback thumb down and get points for it? At least get something out of AI.

Is my phone on vibrate, or is Siri just glad to hear from me?
I don’t know.

If you fall asleep with your phone in your pants pocket, does that count as “spooning?”

I'm only interested in whether there are any other differences between this beta 18.1 and beta 18 aside from AI. If you are on one or the other will you get the same fixes and updates etc along the way?

Thanks for giving Apple feedback. I'm sure it will be appreciated, and for sure doesn't need to be loved if the feedback is helpful/useful.

That's what Beta testing is about. It's not supposed to be ready for release yet. User feedback is needed.

I'm curious... what did you have to say about it?
It was just asking me how it did with specific AI summaries of some of my emails (thumbs up or down), but I also sent them various feedback around Siri incorrectly setting timers/alarms or losing context (for example, when I asked it back to back questions about the humidity, it forget I was talking about the humidity specifically and it started to give me general weather info).

As a developer, I’m personally always interested in making software better at large and providing good feedback is critical to that. 😊
