Oh wow is this the first time they've had beta testing for both the major release in the fall and its first big dot update simultaneously? It sounds like 18.1 is going to be the exact same as 18.0 just with some of the Apple Intelligence features turned on, no?
Twice before, for 13.1 and 16.1.
Both started testing simultaneously with 16.0 and 13.0.
Although I’m not sure how much 13 counts, since the public release of 13.1 was literally only four days after 13.0, it’s not like anyone really had much time to use 13.0

The dropping of betas on day of the week or multiple's week is rather exciting. As before if there was a major bug, and the latest beta didn't fix it you knew you had to wait one whole week or two whole weeks before the next change of if being resolved. Looks like Waze in CarPlay is still wonky like the past few betas where touch in car doesn't work, but seeing the grey map issue less at least.

Excited Siri 2.0 is getting a partial rollout today, though of course the ChatGPT integration and Personal Siri, the ones probably we are all most excited for, isn't coming until later. But gotta start somewhere!

I'm not going near these betas yet, but this is the version I'm waiting for. Looking forward to hearing about real-world feedback on Apple Intelligence.

I'm a paid ChatGPT and ClaudeAI user, so this stuff is exciting to me. Microsoft's CoPilot has been a disappointment, so let's hope Apple does a better job.

Let’s go (soon I hope🤞)

So wait I am super confused at this point are Public Betas and Dev Betas going to be on completely different tracks now?

Yes. Similar to how we have two separate beta branches. iOS 18.0 and iOS 17.6 [which went into RC last week].

Now it's 18.0 and 18.1.

Set all to US including AppStore (with this iPhone mirroring works in Europe) but it doesn’t work sadly.

On the waitlist. The real magic is how Apple derives context from your data and assembles that context into prompts. I just wish LLM’s had direct write access to reminders. I need an AI hypervisor to decide how I spend my time.
