Presumably Apple's location based restrictions are much more sophisticated than just changing your device language and region. It's probably using a combination of device location, cellular location, and network location to verify that you're actually located in the US.

It's not doing anything fancy as long as the Language is US English and the Region is set as US it will work.

All you need to access it in the UK is to change the region to US and Siri to US English. If it messes up your date formats etc, you can manually change the formats back to the normal UK formats and units.

I downloaded it on my M4 iPad. Joined the waitlist, got approved. Didn't work. Rebooted iPad. Now it's working, but I can't figure out any request that will make Apple Intelligence actually go to OpenAI...

Sucks the iPhone 14 PRO MAX doesnt have this update, even without Apple Intelligence.

I get it for more advanced features. But honestly, the features that they’re doing in this first one almost no processing power that I can see. I guess we’ll just wait.

Yes. They’re not stupid, it’ll be using the same methods that detects if you’re in the EU or not. It’s a regional setting. Probably using GPS and the like
