WOW

REALLY,

Apple has falling off a cliff. Its no longer a innovator.
Animoji, how does that even make it into the Keynote. Its a nothing!
Jobs is rolling over in his grave with these lame upgrades and pricing.
Poor Apple.

place Animoji crying here!

For the money they want, this can really only be targeted at adults. Why then focus on animated poop?

I get the casual thing, the blue jeans and stuff, all of business is doing it. But there should be BETTER social features available to people who actually have the money to pay for this product, especially if they still occasionally put on a tie.

For example, I should be able to create an animated "me" from the camera or an animated "anybody" from my photo or video library. A stylized cartoon caricature, if you will.

This bothers me a bit because I'm not 11 and I feel that Apple is treating me like a child. I'm in business and my job and my company are serious. I've been around long enough to really take seriously and value my name and my reputation. I take my responsibilities seriously enough to know that it's bad form to send ANYBODY poop unless I'm texting them about my broken sewer line from a hurricane.

Come on, Apple, I think you need to up your game a bit. For the adults!

I think Apple screwed up royally here. Had they wanted to tap into the youth market using the animojis, they should've done this with the iPhone 8, not the X. Because it's a $1,000 device, I don't think that's an accessible price for the teenage market. By trying to introduce people to Animojis, $999 is not the right starting point. They should've either put it on hold until the X gets cheaper next year or bumped it over to iPhone 8 but then again, it's camera tech lacks the face depth to do it.

The X is supposed to be 'serious' phone that's meant to be the beginning of a new era of smartphone technology, as Tim Cook says " for the next ten years ". I've a feeling iPhone 8 is the last in the series while X will have to end up as a 2018 or 11 designation. They're kind of jumping the gun here with their phone strategy.

Can't innovate my butt.

Seriously though this is kind of eh. Other than playing with my kids the first day I got the phone. Can't see myself using this

Now I know why Apple hasn't upgraded the Mac Mini in years, they've been working on talking poo emojis. Got it.

Children's toys are really becoming quite expensive.

I can see some people trying to make animated shorts with this though. Could get some creative results.

Because Hollywood doesn't use that tech to bring animated piles of poop to life.
Nobody cares how great the tech is when they use it for such embarrassing "features".
This is a $1,000 phone, not the iPhone Animoji Kids Edition.

You know there is an emoji movie with characters including animated piles of poop don't you?

The 8 Plus's telephoto camera module lacks OIS like the 7 Plus's. As a camera enthusiast that's a dealbreaker for me but not for the masses.

That's the only difference I know of, but hopefully we'll find more. The X's availability is rumored to be quite limited which is good for Apple because I think the Face ID will flop. I suspect availability is limited not due to supply constraints but because Apple are unsure of sales.

The 7 Plus does NOT have OIS on the telephoto camera (same as the 8 Plus). Only the X has it in both now.
