With all the s* apps these years, I even forgot there was an App Store. Haven't visited it for ten years.

apple, while you are polishing the app store for developers, please make a bookmark or a favorite button for users.

I wish Apple would add a 12 month commitment option to iCloud+ and Apple Music. I’d rather pay for a year at a time, considering I’ll have at least iCloud+ indefinitely, especially at a discount.

I have a revolutionary idea, a completely new business model for software , that users will love much more than monthly/yearly renting subscriptions :

- Buy the app for a one-time fixed price, and you can use it forever. Everytime a new important version comes out, you can purchase what i call “an upgrade” for a lower price than the initial price, and your previous version will be updated to the new one, and you will also keep it forever.

I patented this innovative business model , but i’m giving it for free to the entire world. Enjoy.😉

All these years and updates later and still no upgrade pricing. They claim people don’t want it. They so absolutely do.

I don’t know why Apple doesn’t but they clearly do not.

People complain about subscriptions, but how many people would pay $60 for a dictionary app or $90 for a camera app for $150 for a YouTube watch later app? 😛

People still think they can get away with paying $1 for an app and have it be supported for perpetuity. Those days are long past. I feel that subscriptions do represent the best of all worlds for users and developers. Developers have the financial incentive to keep updating their apps, and don't need to agonise over new versions or debating what new features to withhold from older users.

Users are assured that their apps are constantly updated, and don't have to play the whole "should I upgrade for this new feature or am I okay with the current version" game that just further fragments the app.

I like OmniGraffle and have used it professionally and personally. About once a year, I wish I still had a valid license. But, I don't want to subscribe to it forever, or keep paying to "upgrade" it every so often, even though I like the product. And, that is the problem with a lot of apps. Over time, you don't use them very often, as your requirements turn towards other activities and apps. But, you may still have content written for them that you want access to. That is why "pay once" is a lot more fair than you might think. And, for apps like that it was never $1 anyway.
