It really only happens after heavy use when it's kinda warm (barely) and usually only takes one reset but sometimes arbitrary number (disconnecting) chord doesn't matter (only used block and chord from box). Also I have 5g so maybe that's why there's devices not affected, or just that most people don't have use cases that push the A15 hard enough to warm device enough to trigger glitch. Also there's a glitch when working normally since day one regardless of ios that it you reset it while charging it will increase charge level 3-5% immediately, which is just kinda silly and not replicated in my iphone 13 mini.
Apple is investigating user reports that the iPad mini 6 may stop charging after being updated to iPadOS 15.5, according to a memo sent to service providers and obtained by MacRumors.

In the memo sent to authorized service providers, Apple said that it's aware that some users may report the latest iPad mini as unable to charge after updating to iPadOS 15.5. Apple is advising that service providers and retail staff inform customers to restart the device as a temporary fix while the investigation is ongoing.
Crucially, Apple explicitly notes that a hardware replacement of the iPad or its battery will not solve the problem, confirming it's purely a software issue. Apple is currently beta testing iPadOS 15.6, which may solve the problem when it's released to the public.
Several iPad mini 6 owners have reported charging issues after updating to the latest iPadOS update on the MacRumors and Apple Support forums (1, 2, 3, 4).

Which I gotta say is rather surprising from the company that made iphone 7 which ran hot enough to melt ice on contact while downloading/streaming - Qualcomm version I think the one that had the grey out blue tooth brick-glitch when ios 11.3 came out.It really only happens after heavy use when it's kinda warm (barely) and usually only takes one reset but sometimes arbitrary number (disconnecting) chord doesn't matter (only used block and chord from box). Pixel 2 used to burn up too but it would crash constantly under those conditions, I guess these were the pre-throttle days, but man that iphone was ridiculous the download speeds were better than I'm getting now on 5g (used to put it in the freezer to keep it going on big jobs lol).¹Which I gotta say is rather surprising from the company that made iphone 7 which ran hot enough to melt ice on contact while downloading/streaming - Qualcomm version I think the one that had the grey out blue tooth brick-glitch when ios 11.3 came out.
I’ve heard this from people having updated older iPhones to 15.5. Not from iPad mini 6 users so far.Anyone else's iPad mini 6 battery drain unusually quick also?
Also, in case apple people read this, jelly scroll is bs, the real design defect is the iphone 4 power button, which is always in the way when in landscape and inexplicably placed given prexisting solutions involving the upper right hand (portrait) side of device. Finally, you should unlock these chips so they can be connected to cellular plans, there absolutely no reason why anyone needs an iPhone 13 with this device, so instead of thinking of the few people like me forced to buy both think of the inumabrable people buying crapsungs etc that would be owning the mini 6 which is best device (in spite of ergonomic flaws) you ever made.

Apparently they did. I haven’t seen it on my model, and when I was in the store looking to purchase, the issue had disappeared from the display models. I can verify that I did initially see it in earlier models. I think they updated the software somehow to fix it.Fix the stupid jelly scroll and release an iPad Mini worthy of Apple, geez!
That's hardware, as intended and within satisfaction of Apple's. Basically those who can only afford iPad mini should be satisfied with jelly scrolling. Tim Cook's advice would be "Don't be poor and buy the M1 iPad Pro."Fix the stupid jelly scroll and release an iPad Mini worthy of Apple, geez!
I think the point is that if an OS update thats been out for nearly 2 months is having an issue with a currently sold device, it isn't stable. This is a stable update, 15.5 has been out for a while.
It’s funny because I had the same problem with the 2018 ipad pro today. Restart fixed it for now but I need to check it later. Anyone else?

same experience, I was thinking the worse (something like a burned charing port), after restarting it was charging againI can confirm I have this problem. Sometimes the mini won't charge until you restart it.
Also, if you plug the charger and it does not charge, if you restart with the charger plugged it does not start charging. You have to remove the cable , restart and then charge it.
that's a hardware thing, it's imposible to fix unless Apple change the screens for other typeFix the stupid jelly scroll and release an iPad Mini worthy of Apple, geez!
