So, would you believe it would be pointless to add a FrontFacing camera on maybe, say... the iPhone? Just curious - 🙂
Well, yeah. When dealing with a camera without someone to move it around, the camera and the subject have to be essentially stable relative to each other.
That's doable with a laptop, but more of a hassle with truly mobile devices. I mean, I guess I could carry the phone with me when I piss, but my girlfriend usually prefers that I just say, "be right back."
I honestly don't see a point other than saying that my tech can do this!1one!!!.
I have a laptop and a desktop for video conferencing. And I use them. I don't need iPad to do it. It's for other things, and I'm really pretty excited about it.
That's why I don't understand why people are bashing it. It doesn't pretend to be everything. It's a focused product. It's focused on what Apple thinks the netbook market should be. We'll see if they are right.
Although I'm a professional violinist, I don't really listen to music except when that's all I'm doing. I don't carry it around with me. I don't have it on when I'm working as a consultant or doing research.
Personally, it fits perfectly for me, and I can't wait to get my hands on one. It does exactly what I was hoping it would do. Web, email, basic productivity stuff, presentations.
That's exactly what I want. As a lightweight business device, this is just about as completely perfect as I could imagine. If I consumed more media, I could perhaps imagine being disappointed. But one thing I don't need in business is another camera to have to explain.
But I don't, and I think there are a lot of people out there like me.
