Hey everyone, who else pre-ordered from Apple and has their phone stuck in Newark, NJ. I got the June 23rd delivery email from Apple, but FedEx still says "Estimated delivery Jun 24, 2010 by 4:30 PM"
Tracking Info:
Jun 22, 2010 2:38 AM Arrived at FedEx location NEWARK, NJ
Jun 21, 2010 4:11 PM Departed FedEx location ANCHORAGE, AK
Jun 21, 2010 11:51 AM Int'l shipment releaseANCHORAGE, AK
Jun 20, 2010 9:39 PM In transit LANTAU ISLAND HK
Jun 19, 2010 11:00 PM Picked up SHENZHEN CN
Jun 18, 2010 7:44 PM Shipment information sent to FedEx

That's where mine is, but relax. They might be heading off to other FedEx buildings; the work day isn't over! Mine will probably head up to Newburgh.

Same here. Time exact also. I figured that they wouldn't be delivering them today when it status didn't say "on truck for delivery" by noon or so.

I called early today to see if I could pick it up in Newark, but was told that the package was marked as needing 1 delivery attempt before allowing pickup? Sounds funny to me, but it's all good. Tomorrow is still a bonus considering I was expecting Thursday.

I'm thinking that they were scanned in to the receiving facility at EWR at 2:38 this morning, and shipped out to the local distribution centers somewhere around 6 am. Most of us should be seeing them tomorrow for sure. Boy did apple do this right for pre-orders this time. Did everyone with the 2:38 scanned into Newark order directly from the apple site? Maybe we get lucky for using them direct!!

=_= Now I am just annoyed. I ordered from Apple and this is my tracking:

It'll get there tomorrow. Most of the local movement happens after 1:00 AM. Is it really worth stressing over?

Same exact situation here. I ordered at 4:13 AM Eastern.

I'm assuming our phones will leave Newark in the middle of the night and deliver tomorrow. Sometimes it doesn't even update until it's on the truck. The email did say our dates will update tomorrow morning. I'm not worried.

i have 2 iphones stuck there too, same time too. our phones are buddies, mine are going to Long island, NY thou

RELAX, many FedEx flights don't happen till late, after their local drivers get back to the hub, they load up the planes, and fly out. You'll see a very late departure around midnight, and arriving at your local hub early AM for delivery.

They will probably leave from Newark on trucks tonight and be at your local FedEx center by tomorrow morning, and on a delivery truck ready to deliver tomorrow. Remember, fedex does a lot of transporting things overnight. They just deliver during the day.

I think your better off going with what fed-ex says not apple. apple is more likely to make a mistake with shipping estimates then fed ex..

Mine's in Newark and I live in North Carolina.....I'd be happy with that if I still lived in Jersey...

Mine is in Newark as well and I live in NC. I got an email from Apple confirming a 6/23 delivery date so we shall see. My tracking hasnt been updated since 2:30AM this morning.

after living in new jersey all my life i visited newark for the first time a few weeks ago...

lets just say ill never go back to that zoo again

My Phone is in Newark, too. But Mine is going to PA, just a small jump over the PA/NJ border so I'm not too worried...

I wouldn't worry about it, Newark is also a major FedEx sort facility that handles all the east coast cities. Planes fly directly from there to your local cities.

newark had massive delays today. Earlier fedex arrivals had to wait for the 9pm arrival from memphis and now all further sorting and distribution will happen together for 23rd delivery.

If your box was in the newark arrival early this morning, the only other option was to go to the sort facility and pick it up yourself.

Mine's in newark too.

FYI - An apple rep told me that except for "small, out of the way towns all iPhone4's will stay at your closest FedEx hub until the wee hours of the morning, when it will move to your local depot" She alluded to the fact someone ( be it apple or fedex) was very concerned about security.
