The i6+ is too big for me. The i6 is the same size as my 5S with a mophie case. I could probably live with an i6. Sometimes I use the 5S outside of the mophie case and I enjoy how small (and fast) it is. The 4/4S is another nice form factor.

Choices, choices.

That makes sense to me. When it comes to things like phone, many sensible people buy the ones that work for them, not because of some perceived trend.

However if you read the the posts in this forum, it seems like a very small number of people wanted a phone smaller than the iPhone 6. In an poll thread a few weeks ago, the tally indicated that 45% wanted a 6+. That is a ridiculous number compared to the actual market share because Apple definitely did not sell 45% iPhone 6+ of all the iPhone they sold this year.

Were any of the carriers offering incentives such as $99 or Free iPhone 5S's? That could be part of it. And the other part, as people touched on already, the majority of people I know, don't want huge phones. These are people that work in the manual labor fields (i.e. my parents who are farmers) and have to deal with putting that phone somewhere on their body while they do actual labor. I work in corrections so I can't have my phone inside the joint, but when transporting/doing bus runs/airlifts/etc I wear 5.11's as part of my uniform and my side pockets are good enough for my 6+. W/ that said, I do miss my 5 often times, as I am always worried about where to put the 6+.

I was one of those (well, my wife was). She needed an upgrade from her 16gb 5, and didn't want a phone as big as the 6 (which I have). So she went with the 32gb 5s. It's a nice phone. Now that I have a tablet, I'm almost ready to go back to a smaller phone.

I missed iPhones after I sold the 4S, so instead of a 6 I decided to get a 5s. Because it's fast, it's easy to pocket, it's easy to use with one hand, and normal people get the same two days of usage out of it they would get out of the 6/6+. Benefits of a bigger screen are slight, so for me, this is the best phone on the market right now. Nothing puzzling about it.

I don't know anyone who gets 2 days of usage out of a 5s.

Had a 6. Had screen issues (dark spots) on my first two. Returned it and got an Android phone (Droid Turbo). Missed IOS and all my apps and media purchases. Got a 5S last week and have been super happy. Fits good in the hand, more then fast enough for me, fits easier in jeans/jacket etc.

I would be one of the people buying a iPhone 7/6S in a 4" or if they can shrink the top and bottom bezels so It's a smaller form factor.

Just bought a 5s, ordered from T-Mobile for my wife. The 64 GB model was the same price as the 16. Upgrading from an iPhone 4. The 6 looked nice, but the expense for a 16 GB phone was just too high.

I hope she likes it.

Puzzling? Not at all.

A really nice phone got cheap and lots of people jumped all over it. It's the most accessible iPhone that has TouchID as well.
