Can't seem to decide between the two.

I like the simplicity of the Apple dock. Hate the stability part. HiRise seems to do a very good job in terms of stability, but not quite sure. It does look a bit bulky in pictures. Never seen one in person.

I own an iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6 Plus. Dock is mainly for the iPhone as I don't intent to stick an iPad in there.

Thoughts? :)

I baked my own FIMO dock, but if I were to pick one of the two you mention, I'd pick the HiRise. I don't trust that Apple dock at all, due to it having no back support

Same here. It just looks too flimsy.

Have you considered Elevation Dock? The new version was just released today. A bit pricey but I think it's very well made. Hopefully, it's as advertised. If not, they offer free returns.

Just went to order it and check how much shipping is and my iPad Air 2 can't open the page because of too many redirects yet another reason to regret buying the piece of crap. At least my Surface 3 will be here on Friday.

The dock does look good though and if I don't decide to dump my iPhone I will get one.

But Apple made it? So it'll be perfect!...

And if it breaks they will give you a new iPhone #

Exactly! Why anyone would worry about Apple's dock being flimsy is beyond logic. Apple can't afford such an obvious mistake, so if they designed the dock like so, they know the phone can handle it. If the dock breaks the phone, they have not only a lot of phone replacements but also a PR nightmare to deal with.

So you think that if your using the Apple dock and it breaks your phone that Apple will replace or fix your phone and not claim that the dock didn't break the phone. Your trust in Apple is applauded, if not a little misguided.

Ironically, with my iPhone 6 on my genuine Apple iPhone 6 dock, I received the following message:

Also, I put my iPad mini on it and it wouldn't even charge. Said it was not supported. Why the hell not, Apple? What a joke.

Are you using your own lightning cable? If you are try an Apple one.

I went with the Apple dock for the simple reason I can plug one of these into the back and then connect it to my ancient iPod HiFi.
