Remember.. Not all of us care

I didn't assume you cared. Thanks for confirming for us the type of person you are. Doesn't sound like the OP (or very many people) would be interested with engaging you in conversation if that is the attitude you are going to have.

Ironic. You haz it.:p

Also missing the " . " at the end of the sentence. No big deal. This guy is

I don't really like the mock up that much. I personally find fascination/interest in function over form :p

Part of the reason is Steve Jobs' death. People miss him. He was Apple's magician. Now we have Tim Cook, Phil Schiller, or Scott Forstall to try to convince us to buy Apple products. Keynotes will never be the same again. The other reason is tech is getting stagnant. Even I have gotten bored with them all. WP, Android, iOS, doesn't matter. It is just an OS. I can't expect them to entertain me forever with cool transition effects and swipes. And manufacturers are running out of ideas for new features. It is just extra cores and extra megapixels now that we don't really need. Or 4G speeds that get costly and burns the battery life real quick. More evolution. No revolution. Lots of overkill.

Couldn't agree more. Had iPhone then left for android. 3 years later got bored with android and am now back to iPhone. Windows phone is smooth but nothing revolutionary. After that, there's nothing else. There's really only so far you can push things.

This next year after phones have quad core and cameras that are as good as you can get on a phone, what's next? Battery tech isn't getting any better, but through miniaturization we're figuring out how to put bigger batteries in the same space. The razr max has killer battery life and is about the same thickness as the iPhone. After that, what's next?

Software? Sure. But what? I had widgets and customization on android for years and got bored of it. Even tried different skins from touchwiz to sense to moto blur. They're all boring an uninspired. So what are we looking forward to?

It'll never be like the first iPhone launch. Where the pinnacle of tech at the time were crappy PDAs and dumb phones with keyboards and wap browsers. Now all these amazing things are standard and nothing is really that special anymore. Really. I'm getting bored too. I have to lower my expectations and have my fun the right way, through apps and stuff the phone already does. It's weird going from a process of "wow I can't wait to see what happens next" to "I'm content with what I have". Being content isn't something I'm used to.

I don't think the screen size is dating the phone. The iPhone was the first phone to essentially be all screen. Since then the competition has gotten larger screens, but the iPhone hasn't had to budge in that area and it has remained the standard image of a smartphone.

I'm not saying I'm opposed to a larger screen- as long as the battery isn't effected to an extreme I don't mind a larger screen.

Here's why people are bored or not that wow'd. There are so many rumors & non-sense spread ahead of time that everyone's expectations are through the roof. When apple doesn't deliver on THEIR expectations, then they are disappointed. Plus as someone said, there are soooooo many devices in the market it's hard to have a major redesign that doesn't really look like or seem like a huge leap forward.

As far as WOW factor goes, just check over the threads leading up to the release of the iPad third generation. The next big thing I suspect will be the long rumoured Apple TV. Apple has certainly not lost it's innovation and market breaking policies...We also have new Notebooks and iMacs coming out shortly.

You can;t make a brand new ground breaking device weekly, it's all been done before at this stage.

the excitement when unboxing current apple products is not as high as it used to be because there are no redesigns at all.

but this year, there will be new mbp redesign, iphone redesign, imac redesign. this should bring back the joy when unboxing the products.

Speaking of unboxing, one thing I guess I can't seem to appreciate is the unboxing videos and pictures.

Ditto....Talk about boring. Unboxing videos is just a waste of time, but I guess those that do it want use to think the masses actually care. Just give me the good reviews, and stop the unboxing stuff....;)

Wow, so many snarky comments and insufferable quotes from the grammar police. By the time I got to page two I forgot what the damn thread was about. Oh yeah, the iPhone5. Right? Never happen. Too many corners. Ive doesn't do complex. Smooth is God. Wait, is it about the guys boredom with Apple? Oh. I don't care then. Later girls.

I never saw the point. True, Apple has some great ideas and take packaging to a new level, but taking videos of unwrapping some gizmo? What, it induces orgasms in some? Seriously? And THEN posting the orgasm online so all can see how freakin' weird they are?

who wants to watch unboxing videos anyway? i was talking about the experience when u bought apple devices by your own money, brought it home, then unboxing it yourself. especially with the iPhone 4 (retina display and new design and FaceTime), new unibody macbook pro back few years ago, and the iPad (a new category in electronic world).

who cares about watching unboxing videos on youtube when you don't have the items yourself. it's like watching porn movies while your dick was missing because of a bad accident in the iraq war.

What you are seeing is platforms maturing. OS X hit maturity at 10.5 (IMHO) and updates have been incremental since then. With iOS, you had the excitement of the first iPhone, then the app store, then the iPad. After all that excitement, improvements have been mostly incremental. I don't expect much excitement in the near future, just good incremental improvements to a solid set of products.

For me, the excitement has been in apps, especially music production apps (both Apple's own and especially 3rd party). Every month I find some new cool app to try out. It's early days and things are starting to get interesting. But that is just a particular niche I'm interested in.
