It’s embarassing how far behind Apple is in a tech that Apple was ahead for years up to a couple of years ago
Google is years ahead of Apple in machine learning. They also have alll the data from users through shady privacy. Apple is trying to catch up: they just snatched away Googles head of machine learning. So, for the time being, Google is going to be ahead, but Apple might be able to catch up.

I said this before the Pixel as a camera is great but in every other aspect the IPhone wins any of the three new models destroys it in battery life, video, mics, quality fit and finish!

Apple isn’t behind in anything the pixel has a great camera no doubt but if that’s all they beat the iPhone in google has a lot to catch up on!

Great video comparison here. The Pixel3 really is bad! The microphone is truly appalling and the video quality well...

Wow, there IS a huge difference.

If I only cared about camera quality and not ecosystem, I'd still pick the iPhone over the Pixel3 even though I do value low light capabilities. I also highly value video quality and the Pixel3 is pretty horrible, unfortunately.

So serious question - what is the point of night sight? When have you ever been looking at a dark alleyway and thought - man I really want an almost usable image of this?

This isn't going to work well for people because both the camera and the subject have to stay still for 5-6 seconds and if they move it will just end up a blurry mess.

It is a cool feature to show off, but in reality it is just a gimmick.

Things that are gimmick until Apple does it:

- Split-screen apps on iPad
- Wireless inductive charging
- Night Shot

You see the huge ass blue splot in the first photo? My iPhone XS has them way more than my iPhone 7 had. It's gotten way worse. It's not just a lens flare anymore, it's copy of light sources, sometimes you can see ghost lamps copied to parts of the picture.

Contact Apple product feedback. If enough users complain, maybe they’ll act. Also call Apple support and log in your concern. Lens flare on my XS max is far worse that any iPhone I’ve ever owned. It rarely exists on Samsung when taking simultaneous shots of the same scene. Apple really needs to hire world experts in camera design.

Um.....I guess? Camera is not the only reason why I buy the iphone year after year. I wish iphone was good as the google camera but i don't see much difference besides people like you telling me to care about the difference. Good effort tho, keep it up but I'm getting iphones and not gogole pixel because of many many many other reasons than the camera.
