Now call Apple and get them to send you a decent webcam so that your audio and video are in synch. Make sure you tell them the video looks crappy and pixelated too, but you need to immediately ask for a Senior Supervisor, so make sure you do that.

Nope. Apple didn't do it.

I did get a SR. rep to send me a Email in writing that he was refusing to send me a bumper.


Apple doesn't have the stock to provide EVERYONE with a bumper. I think that's why they have stopped for now.


thank God I ordered from from eBay on Friday before this issue became a big deal.

I should have it tomorrow.

I got my black bumper Monday from Apple. Glad I ordered it early even though no white iPhone to put it on. I can wait.

I called Apple online store support because my bumper didn't fit right.

I was put on hold, and when she returned, she said a new bumper would be on it's way once my old bumper was returned to their warehouse. I asked if there was any other way, because I really wanted my bumper in the meantime to help my reception issues. I asked if she could extend the 14 day return policy in order to allow me to send mine back after I received the new one.

I was put on hold again, and when she came back, she apologized for the reception issue and stated that she would just send out a bumper for free to apologize for my problems. She said don't worry about mailing the old one back, just keep it. She asked if since I was keeping mine, I would like a different color for the new one, and I said yes. It was a really nice offer from Apple and I'm very pleased.

Well you can see here a bit, in my pic, that it's bowed out on the top side. When I would hold it to talk, it would squeak and be irritating:

What do you think about the bumper, honestly? I was stoked to get one and when I did I put it on for two minutes and it's now tapped up in a box ready to be returned to the warehouse.. I think.

I just don't see how it protects and the bottom of it (speakers and dock connector) seems flimsy like woah.

Am I missing the appeal? :confused:

I'm back and forth on it!

I like that it raises it off a flat surface a bit (I have an IS on the back also). I like that it adds grip but at the same time I think it feels a bit awkward. I do like the splash of color, however.

But for drops/impacts? It will be useless, in my opinion. And I hate that I can't use my brand new Griffin car charger :mad:

I went ahead with an iFrogz from Best Buy. I got the blue and black one.

Pretty awesome! Dropped it last night by the pool (so slate surface) from ear level (don't ask lol) and it barely scrapped the case and the iPhone is fine. Also, you can take bottom off and dock it.
 
I spoke with Apple earlier today. Allegedly, mine would be shipped anytime between Friday and next Wednesday. If it is shipped next Wednesday, I would receive it Thursday, two weeks after I spoke to tech support. I don't believe anything at this point that Apple says (or doesn't say).

Mine ship July 16th, though the rep said probably earlier.
 
I ordered one before all this brouhaha started, it is supposed to be delivered on July 8. However it apparently cannot get out of the factory in Shenzhen CN. Cannot even get to Hong Kong to catch a plane.

For two days its been "in transit" from Shenzhen CN. I checked on Google Maps and that is basically across the city from the Hong Kong airport.

I think they are holding it until they have a couple million of the little beggers to give out to all the complainers here in the states.
