The Apple Store
So, to make things in to a short story:

April 13th: Buy my iPad 2 64GB Wi-Fi, greeted with light bleed, but I put up with it (until I know there is a fix)

May 29th: Give iPad 2 Wi-Fi away, Buy iPad 2 64GB 3G, still has light bleed

Mid-June: Replacement #1, 3 Dead Pixels

Mid-June: Replacement #2 for dead pixels has a loose home button

Early-July: Replacement #3 Apple denies me replacement, but after they damaged my iPad, they replaced it

Mid-July: Replacement #4 for loose home button has lines on the screen when waking up

Late-July: Replacement #5 is and advanced replacement in the mail, due to bad experience at the store, Bad Bleeding, Still has Lines and terrible build quality, went back

Early-August: Replacement #6 Advanced CRU (white box), Bad Bleeding, going back now

I have decided to keep my 4th replacement with minimal bleeding and lines on the screen when waking up only because when the iPad 3 comes out, they said they will replace my iPad 2 with the iPad 3

Now, BRING ON THE RUMORS!!!! :D

Apple's the best for customer care, you may have a frustrating issue with a product, but they'll help you out for sure.

Good customer service call on apple.
However, I would have just returned the product and got my money back. In order to get those replacements, you have to go to store multiple times or you have to be on the phone for hours.

You did this for 6 times... to get newer iPad? Not worth it.

Lines on screen when waking up? Doesn't every iPad have that?

My iPad has the loose home button and lines when waking up.

@appleguy123: The person I talked to said both was not normal
@ECUpirate: Yes, they are
@hcho3 it is worth the hours on the phone to me

I'm a little confused they said they'd give you an iPad3? As far as I knew, no Apple employees are not allowed to discuss that, and I doubt the customer service know if an iPad 3 is coming out or not. Of course it's 90% sure it will come out, but I still doubt they can promise you an iPad3.

But apart from that, if they have promised you an iPad3, congrats :)

Sorry to doubt your story, but I've never heard of this happening.

How do you expect them to hold up their end if the iPad 3 comes out in March 2012.

"Oh BTW, some other employee told me 6 months ago I could trade in my iPad 2 for an iPad 3 when it came out."

Sorry, but this whole thing sounds SUPER sketchy.

Also, perhaps you should give up on the iPad entirely. If you've had this much trouble with the iPad 2, you're unlikely to have any luck with the iPad 3.

Exactly. Judging from OP's posting history, I wouldn't believe anything he says.

Ok, just to clear a few things up: This is all true, BUT, they did not indicate iPad 3, they just said "an updated version of the iPad", which i presume means iPad 3.
Yes, I do hope they hold through on this, but it was added to my case notes
They also said I could get a refund, but I choose to go this route

One other thing: I need an iPad for the stuff I work on daily, so I cannot just leave the platform altogether

Response to the people that don't believe me about my iPads, Check the posts for backlight bleeding under my name

Agreed. If someone promises you an iPad 3, you should have it in writing and well documented. And now that it's posted here, that someone may get fired if traced back.

By law, when you return something 3 times for the same defect, you are entitled to get your money back.

Also, while there are cases of people getting troublesome iPad 2 units, the OP must be having an exceptional case of bad luck; otherwise I find this hard to believe.

How'd you get your fourth replacement back
Also updated could simply mean 'an updated iPad 2 that doesn't have bleeding'

Really? ONLY the iPad can accomplish what you need done?

You should get it in writing. Otherwise there is nothing holding them to their word. They can tell you anything (i.e. adding it to your case file), but if you don't have it in writing, they don't have to do anything.

Once you get it in writing, you can post it here for us all to see.

Also, yea, you probably got someone fired. Apple doesn't hand out free upgrades.

I have had advanced replacements since then

I will try to get it in writing for you guys, without identifying the person

Also, some apps were only on the iPad, and, its august, wouldn't there have been a fix already?

One other thing they told me was brown boxes are opened white boxes, then returned and put in a brown box

For people that don't believe all the replacements
