WHOO WHOO!
1 17 Inch Core i7 Macbook for Me YEAH!:)
with FCS 3 for video editing (I'm a broadcast major)
Here is what I want
17 Inch Core i7 620 2.26 Ghz
8 GB DDR3
500 GB 7200 RPM
ATI 5850 Graphics
Do any of you think this will happen?

That GFX card is unlikely, but the rest is completely possible. (It will be a 5830 if they put an ATI card in there.) However, since the title seems centered on a new product, I doubt this event will feature anything but the tablet. Look for a refresh in the coming months.

I wonder if they will live stream it?

They never live stream events. You will have to read a liveblog like Gizmodo or Engadget.

Here's a name that I haven't seen tossed around for the tablet:

Canvas

The Apple announcement looks like an artist painting on a 'canvas', and artists are usually 'creating' things, so maybe extrapolating both it would be an interesting name? Anyone else agree? :confused:

If so, I wonder how I could lock myself in as the first one who suggested that 'Canvas' would be the name of the Apple tablet?

Too limited."Hey I read the Wall Street Journal today on my Canvas"
Just doesn't work.

Regardless of what is to be announced, for now I am just glad they confirmed a Media Event. I'm looking forward to it!

Going Dark

Usually I follow the feed at my desk, but I think I may wait until Tuesday night and watch the keynote video.

Anybody ever taken note of how long it usually takes them to get that uploaded?

APPLE IS READY TO ASTOUND THE WORLD AGAIN...

We all know the whole IT universe is gonna be surprised, SJ; show us the tablet so that ALL others can try to copy it in no time.

This is a momentous time in Apple's history, as it will unveil SJ's fifth reinvention of the market:

1 - Apple //, the beginning of the mass-market personal computer;
2 - Mac, the best PC ever;
3 - iPod, the best media player ever;
4 - iPhone, the best smartphone ever;
5 - iBook/Tablet/Slate, the beginning of the tablet revolution and, at the same time, the end of Windows tablets, the stillborn ebook segment and any other lousy attempts at PDAs.

We should be thankful for such wonderful creativity, leading design, top-of-class build quality, unsurpassed user interface and incredible industrial foresight. Next week, HERE WE COME! :apple:

MS IS ABSOLUTELY DEAD. AND SO ARE ALL OTHER INFERIOR PC MAKERS.

Actually it is the new iDigital Photo Frame from Apple. Comes in a 7 inch or a 10inch frame.

Love it.

For a fun ride through redirect world, go to www.canvas.com

Also, I've been curious about this and now the invite graphic has me thinking: How can you debut a game changing tablet without demonstrating some of it's chops in a paint/draw program? Could the tablet lead Apple to create it's own MS Paint parallel? Apple does GIMP? Surely, you could go third-party, but with all those gestures to take advantage of...

it'll be beautiful to look at with a fantastic user interface.

but horribly over-priced, outrageously under-specked and the 1st generation will be about as reliable as a french car.

I WANT I WANT I WANT

Citroens are awesome

Yeah. I think many would agree :apple: Canvas is a better name and draws more attention than...iSlate.

the anticipation… it is almost electric!

Just the way Apple wants it.

One thought for those wanting new MBPs is that this event is on a Wednesday, leaving 2 Tuesdays prior to the event to silently update current products, providing a clean "slate" for the intro.

how does one get an invite?i didnt get one do you have to be really close to apple like marumors to get in?

I Know!

Apple has partnered with Wrigley to make Skittles, but with the :apple: Apple Logo on them! Man they sure made this one easy! :D
