Just a thought on the "we wish we could say more"... Maybe they are going to release a few items and they won't have time to cover each in the detail they would like. iPhone/iWearable/AppleTV?

Most important question.
Should I get $10K (USD) in Apple stocks, wait until a week or two after the keynote, cash in, and get the iWatch/iP6 with the dividend?

Even though it sounds like you're joking around I'm still gonna say: Apple's stock always drops the day of the event, because the event never lives up to the rumors apparently in wall street's eyes, stupid I know, so yes, you're idea is correct but wait until the day of the event after the stock takes it's routined plunge, buy, and then wait your couple weeks, sell, and boom! Free iPhone 6 and iWatch lol

IIRC, event invites usually go out no more than a week ahead of time. Interesting that this one is coming out sooner.

As for the tagline - perhaps it has something to do with Siri? On a wearable? Hmmmm....

It's labor day weekend so everyone gets a day off on Monday. Maybe the marketing guys are taking Friday off too so better to launch it early :p

I might actually do that this year.

'Wish we had doubled down on secrecy.'

This is doubled down. We still don't know what kind of bonding glue is being used inside.

And where's the "there is no iWatch" per the "not one leaked part" argument that dominated the "there is no 5.5" iPhone" arguments. We're now closer to the rollout date than we've been, not one iWatch part has been seen, but we readily accept an iWatch will be revealed???

This is the most obvious Apple invite ever:

The day and month are single digits, not proceeded by a zero (09.09) while the year is complete, not abbreviated as "14". Followed by "wish we could say more." All this is intentional and a clue.

So it reads like "99" and 2014, clearly a reference to the old song "99 bottles beers on the wall."

Yes, this "event" is going to be a big party, everyone is going to get so smashed they won't be able to "say" anything negative about whatever is being announced. Now, that's what you call controlling the message. HA!

Note: the preceding was made purely in jest. If you were not amused, have a beer then read it again. Repeat until it is.

WE WISH WE COULD SAY MORE about a wearable device for the wrist but we were just trolling other tech companies to see if they would jump on that while we worked on this...

Unveils something spectacular that no one has every done before

My interpretations of it.

1. The "wish we could say more" makes me think there is some voice or speaking announcement. A better siri maybe? Or something voice activated? Or maybe it's Beats related. But that's music which is not really said, it's sung.

Or maybe it's talking about more of something. More battery life, more places to use something. Or more screen size, ie the Apple phablet.

2. Part of the logo is zoomed in. You're only seeing a very tiny portion of the logo. Makes me think either you're talking something zoomed in "ie more pixels" or zoomed in to notice something small attacked to something much larger. Like something wearable.

3. The shadow on the stem of the Apple interests me. I really can't say why that is there. Anyone with any ideas?

4. The colour scheme of the invite. All white. Very strange as Apple moved away from the white plastic products some time ago. I think it's colourless to say what will be announced is something you will look at and go wow I want that. And in a few years time you'll not even notice you're using it. It'll blend in with your life. But you won't know how you coped in your life before you got it.

5. The font is just the standard one Apple has been using of recent, so nothing to read into there.

the company is expected to
That's all MR says sometimes. Apple is expected to do X. I'm glad Apple doesn't follow what the crowds expect. Then they'd be a Samsung.

Look at the shadow under the leaf of the apple. Looks like a sun dial. I am not sure that apple generally shadows their logo like that

Hm, the nines look like upside down 6's. :D

Glad to have it confirmed!! The fact that they announced it two weeks ahead instead of one makes me think they want the hype-train even more geared up than normal.

This is too easy. Flint Center - obviously stands for F.C. - introduction of Apple's new sport - iSoccer. Such an easy puzzle - NEXT!

It's white as in "heavenly," and Apple's competitor's products are hell to use. :D

An event JUST for NFC?

I am being sarcastic but seriously, bring more to the table. Old technology is not a 'groundbreaking' feature.
I'm guessing you will ignore everything they say in the keynote, other than "NFC". Then you will say, "Meh, I wish they had said more than just NFC."
