Just proves how REALLY bad this Darkshiddd really is..this isn’t something they’re doing to be nice.
It just proves that many users decided to stay on iOS 18.x and older because of how bad iOS 26.x turned out to be, and the promise of Apple intelligence and the new Siri still has not been a reality. Even if I have a compatible device, I would not download Apple intelligence features.

As another user moving up form 18.7.3 on 16e is seems to be a blessing in terms of certificates which have been limited to January 2027.
However, these days you never know seeing how agressively Apple pushes 26 everything on their users.
I mean, I'm glad it's official. And yet I wouldn't hold my breath for that one day certificates gotten expired.

I mean, what would prevent them from signing iOS18 certificates expired in a couple of years for 26-capable iOS devices?

I realize this mights sound like some kind of paranoia but I completely lost trust with Apple. It's just there's no one better than them in their eco-system. Yet it doesn't mean they're not acting being nasty once in a while.

I bet it’s mainly for enterprise users. They have long stopped caring what any normal user deems necessary, like a consistent UI.

Are there any corporations still on 18? My company updated my se 2022 pretty quickly because the new 16e models they were buying already had iOS 26 preinstalled, and they want to keep everyone on the same version.

It's on 26.3.1. No ETA for 26.4.

Let's appreciate small gestures. On their 100th anniversary they'll allow us to downgrade iOS.
Technically, you can downgrade but only to the previous release and for a limited time [usually within 7 days after the latest release].

I also want to downgrade to a version released so many years ago but Apple only allows it on macOS.
