I can’t quite grasp why this is an issue to Apple?

Seems to be an unnecessary “issue” and quite frankly, petty of them.

If you don't think there is a moral difference between stealing a candy bar or hundreds of millions like Madoff, well, I can't help you.
I certainly don’t need (or seek) your help, or values. I’m good, thanks. You again seem to think that as long as you only steal a little, or steal from the deep pocketed, its not “theft”. I am glad we have laws and regulations that protect businesses and individuals from similar rationalization. “I7guy” answered your remarks perfecty - so the forum does not need a repeat from me.

Apple,

Please upload all the uncompressed copies of all past Apple press events onto your website or YouTube.

For some of us it brings up fond memories of your products.

I especially like the ones where Steve Jobs introduces new goods & services!
Wow.... too many people agree with me

Well, the site IS called MacRumors. :) I’d be surprised if they wouldn’t want to see that. I mean, this person was making money from the fact that people wanted to see it!

And, one could also make the assumption that there’s a panoply of OTHER sorts of similar media that they’d want to see which aligns with the same timeframe.

That other poster made great points, you make great points, by the letter of the law it is theft, yes, I just can't characterize the Youtube uploader as a thief, maybe I am looking at him or her in a Robin Hood type of way, and my Steve Jobs stealing from Microsoft might be hyperbole but corporate theft is real and probably was committed by Apple at some point in their history.

In this instance Apple might have requested him or her to take down the videos and the Youtuber did not initially comply, if true that was a dumb move by the Youtuber.

We shall agree to disagree on some minor points but if Apple continues to act like the Borg, I don't like how the future will go for them, they are kings of the world right now, history says that won't last forever, might be time for a young upstart to teach them a lesson or two.

And I hope stories like this don't become the norm in the future: https://gizmodo.com/apple-iphone-analytics-tracking-even-when-off-app-store-1849757558

In this way, Apple’s always acted like the Borg. Though I’m not sure I’d use Borg as the Borg attacked and assimilated everything. Apple as the Borg would be taking down EVERY video from YouTube. Apple as a “corporation” only took down things that they, rightfully, owned. So, yeah, Apple’s always acted like a corporation.

Wrong comparison, no company can really get this big and maintain the nimble and rebellious spirit of its youth, if Tim Cook starts to slip maybe Jony Ive arrives as the CEO to inject new life into Apple.

You’re right. Companies that strive to maintain being “rebellious” and not grow out of that phase aren’t around for long.

OK, change rebellious to innovating spirit, if the Apple skunk works team was sitting on an amazing product that could kill the Iphone would Tim Cook approve it?

Sure. As that would mean TONS of people that have already bought iPhones, that would see a set of features in a new device that would drive many of them to purchase yet another Apple product. Which would increase Apple’s bottom line which is what he’s good at.
