5 Trillion and still needs ads in Maps and App Store so the line goes up.
Yeah, this is the problem that I have with Wall Street's view of capitalism.

As in:

'$5 trillion - great job! Now how are you going to get to $6 trillion?'

What I mean is that to fulfil those expectations, at some point a company usually loses its 'North Star' to get to those figures.

Good job that Apple is doing anything crummy like putting ads in Apple Maps though - and I'm relieved that its existing ads in News are high quality. Oh and even more ads in the App Store (with one hand Apple gives to devs and with the other, it takes away).

/s

I'm hoping though that JT will cut down on the ads and double down on the new hardware to get to that $6 trillion.

That means we can start demanding
- 250GB of free iCloud storage for life
- 5% cut for all developers and open up the app store for all countries
- 1TB/32GB base storage/ram for all Macs without raising prices

Apple is a 5 TRILLION DOLLAR COMPANY so they can afford to give us free ****.

because that's how money works, right?

...right?? /s

They could do a little better on iCloud. The pricing hasn't changed since introduction, they just added higher paid tiers.

It was generous back when iPhones were 8/16GB. They now sell 128GB/256GB base models...and iCloud pricing remains unchanged no matter which model.

At this point the "free" 5GB only exists to instantly be filled so they can nag you to buy more.

Everyone is greedy. The world runs on it. Why isn't everyone in this position?

Easy answer, greed doesn't make you wealthy and is an irrelevant talking point.
Interesting take.
Just because "everyone" is doing something does not make it right.

Especially when there are quite a few questionable decisions that Apple had made over the years.
eSIM only?
Ads in maps?
Headphone jack removal?

What’s wrong with eSIM?

5GB is not meant to backup everything. It's there so that your apps settings and small documents sync. A little bump to 32GB isn't going to change anything for most and just adds more cost to Apple. Expecting Apple to give away 250GB or even 128GB for life for billions of customers doesn't check out.

Some education: A person buying stock at price to sales of 10 is assuming that the company will be paying them every cent they make as revenue (not profit) for the next 10 years before they can make their money back.
Nope. Your explanation assumes that there will be no revenue increases in the future.

Minor decisions and/or correct ones? Apple is literally the best company in the world by running business metrics. They are incredible.

No. A smart CEO who knows how to run a multi-trillion dollar business will get you there.

Greed & snide comments have nothing to do with Apple's success
Yeah, I doubt how much money they bring in will change dramatically or shrink. It’s likely headed on a steady progression upward because they’re one of the few companies in tech that derive a lot of value directly from selling products produced from acquired raw materials at a profit. Then, by selling services for those products. Their profit story is pretty straightforward. It’s never been, “We’re going to lose billions yes, but then, you know… things will change… we don’t know what will change and we don’t know when. But, when it changes, THEN we’ll be massively profitable, more than likely. So, yeah, our stock price is that high because everyone knows that the ‘things change’ part is juuuuuust around the corner an everyone wants to profit when the stock goes up even HIGHER!”

Tim Cook will be a huge loss for Apple at the top. He has delivered incredible returns for investors.

The next CEO has a big job ahead of him to grow profits and margins in the current cost-surge environment.
I'd rather the new CEO focus on making better products and delivering them (mature) on the day they are announced.

So prober managed not ****ed up like Tesla. -Guess there is a logical experience why Apple does not work with Tesla. Wonder how can the shares ~18% must be lack of management.

They have Klarna to thank 😂

Kind of... people are complaining about prices and Klarna lowers the monthly payments. I've posted about the drawbacks of Klarna in a different thread, so I'll skip that here. But, it arguably will increase the Apple ecosystem customer base and keep Apple devices within reach for those who might be priced out by the effects of the memory supply shock.

Sure not that much. Just give the 99 cent tier for free and make the 99 cent tier a little better. That would actually back up just what you say. 5GB is really small these days.

But I thought Apple was behind on AI. I am really enjoying rubbing this in! Other companies spent 200 to 300 Billion on AI and now Siri going to cure cancer! 🤣
