BMWfilms has signed on three renowned Hollywood directors for the next three installments of "The Hire" digital film series, due to roll out in October. John Woo ("Windtalkers," "Mission Impossible II," "Face/Off"), Tony Scott ("Spy Game," Enemy of the State," "Top Gun") and Joe Carnahan (soon to direct Harrison Ford in "Walk Among the Tombstones," "NARC") will direct the follow-up to last year's award-winning effort. British actor Clive Owen will reprise his role as The Driver, the mysterious chauffeur who takes passengers on a high-powered car chase in a BMW. The films will be executive produced by Ridley Scott, Tony Scott and Jules Daly through the Scott's company RSA USA, Inc. Fallon in Minneapolis is the ad agency driving the program. A hybrid of cinema and campaign, the initial five films debuted last year on BMWFilms.com and featured the work of highly acclaimed directors, including Ang Lee and Guy Ritchie and actors Mickey Rourke and Madonna. Fallon and BMW of North America took home Best of Show at the One Show and One Show Interactive, two Grand Clios at the Clio Awards and a Grand Prix Cyber Lion at theCannes International Ad Festival for the short film campaign.
