What on earth is the point of having the spaces between the keys lit up?

Bearing in mind the light given off / legibility, marginally more useful than the Macbook Pro's backlight to be honest. It is a slightly different type of illumination though.

I'll take your word for it, never having used either, but to me it does look rather like a street cruiser with illuminated suspension on Battersea Bridge of a Saturday night. But maybe that's the idea...

while i dont think apple keyboards are bad, i think that logitech makes the best by far. i used to love my microsoft natural fit keyboard but my pb keyboard is just too comfortable

Yeah I guess I am old becuase I dont feel a difference. But if I typed over 100 wpm I guess you can tell the slightest difference.

At school we have the worst keyboards. Very sticky, greasy and the worst part if that the backspace key is just the same size as a 'normal' key-so when you go to press it you press + instead of backspacing. And they're creaky...
I love my MacBook keyboard!

I'm currently using a Kensington "Keyboard in a Box USB," at least that what the label says. I haven't had many complaints, though I do feel that the keys could fight back a little less. It is quiet, which is nice. I haven't yhet found my dream keyboard, and since I'm a writer, well, it's kind of a drag.

I have always kept an eye out towards this 'board... does anyone have one? Aren't all the keys weighted differently? like the "p"s and the "q"s are lighter so they take less effort to press?

and look at the specs: "Darth Vader approved" :D

OMG I may have to blow my cash on that tomorrow. Woah, that is awesome.

Sorry, I'm in the exact same position - I've already sorted out a black monitor and Logitech MX revolution, meaning to get this once my kidney grows back and I can sell it again...

I have one. It's great. Best keyboard that I've ever used, and it really makes you type faster and learn exactly where everything is.

And yes, the keys are weighted differently.

i have to say my favorite keyboard ever... is my macbooks. My typing speed on it is much faster than on my old logitech from my pc. I love the short throw of the keys.

On a side note, I have the feeling apple will be releasing a new keyboard with light of keys maybe? sometime soon.

Not having ever owned a Mac (but planning to switch), I can't really comment. However, I do know a few people with macs, and two of them each use a different keyboard that they swear by:

The Adesso http:////adesso.com/products_detail.asp?productid=108

and

The Matias Tactile Pro http:////matias.ca/tactilepro/index.php

I got a Tactile Pro last week when I purchased my new C2D MBP and I LOVE it. It's very loud, but very responsive and, for lack of a better word, tactile!

No. i kno exactly what you mean. I just got a Apple wireless kB, and i feel like i have to put some effort to push these keys compared to my powerbook keyboard... Maybe if a good wireless (Bt) short stroke, like the pb, keyboard comes out, i may have to pick it up, cause the apple wireless kb is giving me a workout! :D

or maybe i should pick one of these up when they are available?

you can program the keys any way you want, either for games, photoshop, different languages, etc...

It's funny, people rave about how good the original IBM PC keyboard was, but they felt like the keys had car springs under them.
