Hmm...

I bought one of Apple's current-generation wired keyboards and have absolutely no issues with it. True, I type only a maximum of about 70-75 wpm on it, and maybe another 30 wpm would make a big difference, but I am totally comfortable with the pressure requirements.

And talking about the old-school IBM Selectric/Selectric II-esq IBM PC keyboards, I loved them! They just had this wonderful feeling to them.

If only I could justify it, I might consider buying the Das Keyboard.

And speaking of Darth Vader approved, did you see what it failed?

help

Hello!
I?m a mac newbie and I need some help to shape my keyboard: I have italian keys but I write quite often in german, I heared I can assign special keys to special caracteres. I need to configure some shortcut keys which possibly work on every file (when I write in word, when I write here on the forum, when I write a new email with mail ... ). The cracaters I need to assign are: üöä.
Can anyone help me? Thanks!

I write on two different MacBooks, using both Word and Final Draft, and never experienced any problems with the Apple keyboard. And I also type very fast, almost seven hours daily. Would never consider switching -- keyboard works absolutely beautifully for me. :)

best keyboard ever, if you don't mind the hefty pricetag

I have this keyboard as well -- in the hopes of it being similar in feel to my powerbook/mbp. It's much more like the keys of the ibook, in my experience, which is still good, just not quite the same.

I'm happy with it, for the most part, except for one annoyance: The completely blank key just to the right of the rightmost control key. I use that control key all of the time during coding (within emacs), and am perpetually hitting the blank key rather than the control key. Is there any way to bind that key to also act as a control key? It's my only complaint with the keyboard.

Thanks for any help anyone can give.

I remember first using a mac keyboard about 2 years ago.
and it felt hard to type on - but I did get used to it.

Right now I only have a powerbook and have been dreaming of getting an Apple BT keyboard, but reading this thread has put some doubts in my mind.

I find the Apple keyboard a little uncomfortable, but I don't use it a lot. The keyboard of my MBP is nicer than that of my old VAIO though.

Dell

i love my BT Apple Pro Keyboard at home but, the dell keyboards that come with all the new machines are not that bad i use one at work along side my wired mighty mouse:eek:

I have to agree with the first post.. I have a white apple USB keyboard on a 2xDC Intel Mac and the keyboard is very low quality. Like the first poster, I type fairly quickly and I find the keys to be sticky and unresponsive (the keyboard is clean and has never had anything spilt on it). Most of my time is spent writing C++ source code, and all the shift+ combos are a real pain.. the left shift key (which I hit with my left little finger) only behaves when pushed vertically.. any slight side motion and the key just sticks, making coding a real pain.

[edit]

However, I have typed on white apple keyboards that have been fine (although not in the last few years..) I've been hammering this sticky one for a good few months now and it doesn't seem to be loosening any, so it could just be a bad'un..;-)
