Apple kills the entry-level Mac mini by raising its price by 33%

In Spain, the price here in Europe has gone from €719 to €969 on the Apple Store.
Despite the lack of stock, it seems Apple is preparing us for the price increase of the upcoming Mac Mini M5.

As they did with the MacBook Air (once the de facto 'inexpensive' Mac for students, road warriors and the cafe crowd - now priced out of that market), I wonder if this argues for the solution they had for laptops? That is, the Neo.
'Neo Mini': an A9 processor, 12GB RAM, minimum 256 GB storage, fewer USB-C ports - all wrapped in a colorful case and priced at $US299 / €299?
