Anyone knows what will happen to places without the iTunes Gift card and some Asian countries?

My online apple store does not have any BTS promo yet :(

I was wondering the same thing. They usually have it in Asian countries. I know they had it in Japan already. Anyone got info on this?
 
Does anyone know if you can still get the education discount and the $100 app store gift card inside the Apple store? I want the discount, but I rather not go through the online process if I can get all the rewards in the actual AppleStore?

Yes you can. Of course, you need to bring proof of enrollment, such as an acceptance letter or student ID, but they will indeed honor education-discounted pricing, the printer promo, and the $100 gift card. :D
 
B2S Promotion in Portugal?

I would like to know if someone knows if Apple B2S promotion will be available in the portuguese Apple Store.

What makes anyone think Apple is required to do any promo offer for anything?

Their gear still sells in record numbers, promo or not.

Drop that sense of entitlement, guys. No one here is entitled to squat, beyond what Apple's warranty guarantees you.

Does anyone know why the Back to school promo in Singapore is still not out? We use to have it every year.

As much as I don't want to, I have to agree with those who say that Apple doesn't owe anybody anything (other than their shareholders, etc.). At the same time, with their est. $70B in cash reserves, cutting the BTS promo essentially in half is rather poor form.

Not purchasing a MacBook in protest is not an option for me as I desperately need a new laptop. Instead, I've decided to downgrade my purchase and just go with the base model 15" MBP instead of the 17" MBP with the upgraded RAM and an SSD as I had been planning to do for several months now (i.e, instead of getting what I really, really want, I'll just go with something closer to what I actually "need"). I understand that the BTO upgrades are where Apple really makes the money so I'll save those upgrades for later and purchase them from someone else like OWC, etc. to share the wealth.

At one point, I was going to downgrade from a 17" MBP to a 13" MBA - until I did some research and ran some numbers. With the est. 37% profit margin on the higher end MBA's vs. an est. average 20% profit margin on the MBPs, that "downgrade" would have - oddly enough - put even more profit in terms of real dollars in Apple's pockets!

So there you go, Steve! Instead of selling me a CAD $2,947 BTO 17" MBP (2.2GHz, 8GB, 256GB SSD), you're now only selling me a $2,049 15" baseline MBP. That extra $900 will be going elsewhere!
 
Reference to free IPod

Yesterday when researching my recent order on the Apple website (this was either in the order section or the Apple Care section, as I was looking for info on both topics), I came across a note on one of their pages referencing what was required to earn the "rebate for the IPod" in the BTS promotion

Obviously this was leftover and I have been unable to retrace my steps and find it again, but I wonder if anyone else stumbled across the error? It was kind of a slap in the face as I wait for my $100 App Store card.
 
I am bummed to not get the free iPod I was hoping for, but I am grateful to get the 100 dollar gift card along with the 100 dollars off my 13" mbp as well as a free printer. Loving my first Mac :)
 
$100 Back to School - not working

I received my MacBook Pro yesterday along with the Back to School gift card, but the gift card code is not working :( iTunes says it is invalid....Just wondering if anyone else had this problem? Planning to call support today....
 
Looks like a good deal. I've seen some of the best deals for back to school this summer when compared to any recent summer deals. Glad they put good models out there as i have seen deals for other brands where they are basically trying to lay off their crap inventory by giving you a good deal with it.
