A standard sale from retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, Target, etc. But from Apple too? That's the unusual part.

Apple does sales, but it's usually during the holidays or for back-to-school.
Not on sale at the UK Apple store 🤷‍♂️

Good catch. My only analysis would be that Apple found that sales of these headphones were underperforming at its retail channels, and rather than force consumers to buy through a third party to get the discounted price they’re now matching certain discounts, possibly on a trial basis.

Except someone owning class A shares would be much more impressive considering they currently come in at $614k each, which is about three times the median American’s net worth.

Depends on the share volume, purchase price, sell price, etc. If you bought at the current price I wouldn’t be very impressed.

Owning something isn’t impressive. That just reflects an ability to throw money in any direction.

What makes Berkshire itself impressive is not their Class A price. That’s hardly interesting as the Class A shares have never been split. What’s interesting is that their CAGR since 1964 is double the S&P’s.

Also, owning one share of Berkshire would in recent years cause you to underperform me. My 15 year CAGR beats the S&P.

This is through a number of investment decisions (not “trading”) across nine accounts in domestic and foreign securities, common and preferred, bonds, funds, treasuries, and certificates of deposit…. And without a single dollar directly invested in tech.

The real impressive move isn’t making money or having money. The real feat is not losing it.

It’s a shame what became of Beats. When they first came out, I wanted a pair so bad. I thought they look cool and the demo I tried sounded excellent to me. Alas, I could never afford them and I moved on. Now, years later, I bought AirPods Pro (and love them) so I don’t really have a use for Beats. It’s cool they’re still around, but it seems like Apple is only interested in the name and patents, because they’re just… there. Nothing new or exciting about them at all. It’s a damn shame.

Good to see discounts when purchasing directly through Apple website.
I agree. Although, Costco managed to one-up them. I want the Beats Studio Buds +, and both Costco and Apple (and Best Buy for that matter) have them for $130.... but, Costco throws in the AppleCare (worth $29)... Sold...

Or people are, wisely, just opting for AirPods?!

I mean, what’s great about saving $50-$150+ by getting Beats if you only get the full AirPods experience on actual AirPods?

Most sales are about some level of less than ideal demand for the product in question.

I personally don’t know more than 1-2 people who use beats. And I never notice anyone wearing them when I’m traveling or shopping.

Obviously anecdotal to my life. But I just don’t think demand for Beats is particularly strong.

And to be fair, how would Apple ever successfully bet on two almost identical horses without letting one starve?

All Beats will ever be is a lineup of different “AirPods SE”, allowing Apple to sell budget audio devices without compromising the AirPods high-end brand identity and price point.
I think they can both coexist.

I bought original AirPods on day 1. They never fit my ear well and fell out so I had to use them with little foam covers. I got original AirPod pros on day 1 as well hoping they would fit better. And they did. But they were still somehow not great for my ear shape or lifestyle, I found the stem somehow annoying. The sound quality in the pros degraded over time and they finally died a few months ago. I didn’t want to buy another pair based on my prior experience, and they have skyrocketed in price in my country.

So I picked up these beats sudio buds plus. They are far more comfortable for me and I very much prefer them for that. Sound quality is equivalent for some music, and worse for others. Transparency mode is not as good. But these are better for me.

I also have the AirPods Max, WH1000MX4 for over ears, and the WF1000MX3 in ears that are still going strong.

For me, they are like the active line. There are more options for fit and style, and different price points. The AirPod pros never felt quite right to me. But the studio bud plus does. Also much cheaper where I am, so I don’t mind throwing them in a gym bag or them getting wet with sweat etc. I think they still have a place.
