Apple Launches iCloud.com Beta

I was able to login and I'm not a registered developer.. Although, the first time I tried to login, it said my password was incorrect.. Second time, it said it was open to developers only.. Third time's a charm, I guess? :D

I skipped the whole MobileMe thing.. I had a .mac account before, and I still use my @mac address for my Apple ID.. Although, I did lose the mail function.. Even though I personally don't like the idea of "the cloud", hopefully I'll get it back when iCloud gets out of beta..

Don't you make your apple ID thru your device rather than thru iCloud.com?

For example, I made mine thru System Preferences > Mail, Contacts and Calendars on my macbook pro. I have the iCloud beta installed
 
I was getting the pop-up about LION or IOS5.

I fixed the issue by setting up Find My Phone and getting that working on my iPhone. Once I was able to find my phone, I was able to login. I however really can't do much other than look at a calendar or contact book.

I've not seen a way to setup and email account or sync data.
 
I'm no developer, but I signed up for iCloud beta by just downloading the iCloud Beta for Lion.

Login, mail, calendar, contacts, everything works smoothly for me.

Not too happy with the interface though, MobileMe's app screen (where you choose between the apps) seems to be snappier than iCloud's.
 
Only lets 10.8 or iOS 5 users to login...

I tried logging in and received an error.

Dude, im all for opinions but when has classic black and white minimalism ever been ugly?

It might not be your style but i think its far from ugly. Its minimal, utilitarian and classic.

Where did you get the beta download?
 
i was able to log on with my apple ID (my gmail) mail doesn't work, but calendar and contacts does (not synced, but it loads). i was also able to log in with an old MobileMe account that i let die. and mail works and everything.
 
I got the following. The 'iForgot' is so cheesy I first suspected that this is not an official Apple page and I even thought for a second about changing my password...

Was able to login into iCloud with my Apple ID earlier today even though I'm not a developer but it now appears iCloud has limited access to developers only.

Odd. I don't know why it's different for us. Maybe, like I said earlier, that it's because I have an actual @me.com address with Apple's MobileMe service? No clue. :confused:
 
i Have a paid iOS dev account and it won't let me in, it seems from looking at the dev page on apples site you have to be a mac dev too.

I am iOS dev only too and it lets me login. Try making your iCloud on your iDevice running iOS 5 and then login to iCloud.com

when i updated to iOS 5 in the first place i made an i cloud account. i tomes with *******@me, i also tried my apple id and no dice, and i don't thing my email would work. i tried on my mac and on my iPhone and it will not work. it just says my id is not an i cloud dev account, and when i try on my iPhone the is no log in it just says coming soon.

The only thing I can say is report it as a bug to Apple.
 
Any iOS devs able to login or is this for OSX devs only?

I am a registered iOS dev, and I have been running the iCloud beta on Lion. Been working great. I have a registered iCloud account...but I can't login. It says its for Devs only. What the heck? It doesn't say for OSX DEVS ONLY, let me in dammit! haha

Seriously though...anyone in my boat and able to login?

Ahh, yeah looks like you have to be a Mac dev to download the iCloud software. I just grabbed it elsewhere which is how I even have it for Lion.

Being a registered iOS dev doesn't get you access to iCloud.com....so if its working for anyone....i think its just coincidental luck that you can login. Unless I'm doing something wrong...?

If anyone finds a work around to allow iOS (only) devs to login, please let us know!
 
For iOS developers i have a solution, just go on your ios5 devise and create a new account. on the de forms lost of the mare doing it and it worked for me .
 
This is odd. It claims that my original iCloud account from the first beta isn't a valid developer, yet when I create a new iCloud account it allows me to log in perfectly fine. That's useless to me since all of my info is synced to iCloud through the iCloud account I made during beta 1 of iOS 5.

Has anyone else had a similar issue?
