Yes the Union were one of the only teams in the country that were available over the air. You are unlucky. Everyone else is benefitting.

Minnesota (who I am assuming is your team) had 19 games OTA last year. The vast majority otherwise were on the local cable network or ESPN/FS1. There were some that were only available behind ESPN+'s paywall, but again, now none are available OTA or on cable.

It is harder to watch your local team in your area than it was last year.

I live out of state so I used espn+, and I’m a season ticket holder so MLS Season Pass was free for me.

You were commenting that the Union were one of the only teams available OTA; that's simply not true and I used Minnesota as a counter example. You being out of range of OTA and local cable doesn't change the availability of the teams in the local market.

One of the only does not equal the only. It was just an expression to say what you had in Philly was uncommon.

Like 20% Minnesota’s MLS games have been available OTA since joining the league. Everyone who actually wanted to follow the team closely and watch playoff games needed cable at $80+ a month because Sinclair didn’t work with Hulu or YouTube TV.

I’m sorry the Union aren’t worth $80 a year to you. Maybe they’ll get a better deal for you in 2031. In the meantime, Apple just put 40% of MLS games in a billion people's pockets for free. Have a hunch they're happy to take a chance on that considering the dozens of people that watched MLS on linear TV.
