I really hope that people who pay for iCloud+ or at least something like Apple One can have the option to turn these ads off, or be off for us by default. I was always said on these forums that one of the reasons we pay a premium for Apple devices is to avoid the ads.
ad revenue is more lucrative than subscription tribute. They will spare no one

so chat gpt pointed out that of course mail etc. is only available in the us.... wtf. but i reckon that the GDPR is once of the reasons...

I just really wanna ditch Microsofts ****** exchange. Especially contacts works so bad with any Apple Device. The sync is outright awful and it keeps overwriting things. I just don't like MS. Any alternative recommendations? I was so much looking forward to switching to Apple.... Based in Munich if that matters
Thanks y'all
Hard to make a recommendation without knowing how many accounts you have and how large your business is but Google's Exchanged migration tool is pretty good. I think Google's services are much easier to manage than Exchange.

I'm gun shy after Mac OSX Server.

But........ Is it better than Microsoft Small Business solution from around 2013, when they jammed Sharepoint at us when we really wanted a dropbox equivalent for file storage?

This is just a quick raw real response, without my first having read through the product information.

3 years ago I moved our company domain to iCloud domain, created an email to test and deleted it. Apple says we can't move our emails here cause "The managed Apple account is not available". Spent hours with support, and they simply cannot help.

with Apple there always has to be something they cannot fix when it comes to business. They are not ready.

We fired our grumpy IT vendor and switched to apple business essentials lol. Saved 1k/month and macs rarely have issues versus the PC craptops we were on that constantly had something going on

Good to know about the changes for this side of Apple’s business. Won’t be surprised if Apple starts charging for this in the future.

How can that be available in over 200 countries, when there are only 195 countries on this planet? Do they include the Moon and Mars already?

As part of a company that was paying for Apple Business Essentials, this is a welcoming update! Our bill just shrunk significantly and now I have even more options in my Management dashboard.

This is quite simply Cook broadcasting, "Oh, Oh, Oh we have one of those too." Like a school boy. It will only be half supported, then forgotten, the cancelled.

Having run IT departments that went with Apple business solutions in the past and then had them cancelled out from under us with exactly zero notifications from our Apple business solutions representative (that I spoke with weekly), adopting this half baked solution will never be sustained by Apple. Please beware.

I wonder if they will update their Apple School Manager as well? ...yes there is Mosyle and JAMF, but some smaller schools just want something native and simple.

Apple School Manager is not an MDM, it still needs to be paired with an MDM, such as Jamf (Pro, Now, School), Mosyle, Kandji, or others. From what I have seen, I don't think Apple Business (formally Apple Business Essentials) is appropriate for Schools as does not seem to have the Classroom features.

(I just tried going to https://school.apple.com and it looks like it is still the old login, so it doesn't look like ASM has been migrated).
