Itunes cards from Costco are no longer available. Yesterday they had $100 cards for $94.49 but now they're gone. :(

I bet we’re not likely to see occasional 10-20% discounts on these cards like we did on the old iTunes cards...
Was going to post the same thing. Now I wish I had stocked up even more than I already did. I usually keep a high balance of discounted cards to pay for Apple Music, Apple Arcade and iCloud Storage. If I’d have known I could use these on Apple products I’d have gone all out. Now I seriously doubt we’ll see more than 5% off and definitely not more than 10% off. Hope we’re wrong!

Makes me wonder if this is part of Apple getting ready to take a lower cut on purchases due to recent anti-trust proceedings. Pass it on to the consumer!

To everyone wondering if the 20% off iTunes cards days are over and now wonder who was paying for the discounts... The fact that Costco stopped selling iTunes cards answers your questions. Clearly Apple sold iTunes cards to retailers/wholesalers at 30% off or so and they in kind sold them on to us with promotions. No one talks about this when raking Apple over the coals for their coincidentally same commission fee. Apple clearly spent heavily stimulating the App Store tremendously for years doing this and at their cost, not the developer’s cost. Now that this is over I figure Apple will lower the commission but we will see value focused consumers pulling back on their services spending a bit. Since most folks don’t pay attention to iTunes gift card sales it won’t be a massive chilling effect, but I’m sure for some it will cool their spending. I know I will.

How did this not already exist?!

Apple wanted to have two cards, one of which could be regularly discounted and applied to services and apps. And another that was never discounted, that could be used for products like an iMac.

Imagine getting a 20% discount on an iMac or MacPro. Apple's net profit margin of roughly 21% would evaporate. Not going to happen.

Maybe they will change it to when you use your card to add to your digital balance, you get a boost.

Give it a whirl. You'll be back! :)
😂

I have had a trial in the past. Wasn’t anything memorable. There’s native Spotify in my Tesla, but since I don‘t drive very much anymore.....

Not to brag, but I am (was?) one of those iTunes card hoarders. I was always finding ways to get them for >20% off. Amex promotions, Amazon mistakes, eBay discounts/listings in the wrong categories, etc. It was like a treasure hunt watching for unique deals to come up. I typically keep $1K balance, I think I have about $900 right now. Like many of you, I thought it was nice to splurge a bit on iTunes movies/TV shows knowing I got them at least 20% off Apple’s sale prices. Same with iCloud.

At least Apple did the “right” thing and converted my balance over to Apple store credit.

But what if I redeem a card now, will it still be a universal balance?

Answering my own question:

Redeem your App Store & iTunes Gift Cards into your Apple Account Balance, and use it to buy Apple products, accessories, games, music, movies, TV shows, and more.

Will there be a reloadable card for Apple Wallet? I have several Apple gift Cards that I have I would like to consolidate in one spot.

Finally. I have a ton of iTunes cards I will never use. Now can buy some new AirPods.

It actually looks like that may be possible, it says you can take old iTunes gift cards and redeem them into your Apple account and purchase apple products with them.

That would be awesome if they did!
Seems like when I read more people are saying it is now a universal balance though shared between iTunes and Apple Products Store :( So what kinds of Promos can they have now? Just give discounts on anything you get on the iTunes side?

1. No, those cards are sold at 10-15% off in wholesale. ( And US only for some strange reason, other part of the world are 10% flat.).

2. The total cash card spending relative to App Store revenue is a little more than a rounding error.

-----------

I am thinking if they will continue the iTunes Credit Discount from within Apple Wallet. But that sort of defeat the purpose of Card Card which is for people without credit card to use iTunes.

Or if this part of the bigger plan to help everyone hop on to Apple Card?

Edit: I forgot you can still Top Up your iTunes Credit with QR Code. Which makes the iTunes Cash Card sort of redundant.

Finally, having a card for for services and buying hardware. Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My friend is happy, he has $500 of iTunes cards and now he can use it to buy hardware yea!!!!!!!!

Good move by Apple in making a gift card that pays for services and Apple hardware. I'm still going to continue to use the credit I've accumulated to pay for Netflix/HBO Max/iCloud. But at least I now have the option, if I want, to apply the credit to Apple hardware, too.

I doubt we'll see any discounts on Apple gift cards moving forward.

Hope they allow old cards to be redeemed as the user sees fit. I keep getting app gift cards when I want store gift cards. I’ve got several that I’d use to buy a watch if I could.

Wonder what this means for Family Sharing? My wife has an iTunes balance, but we've been struggling to find a good way to use it.

I'm also wondering if this affects being able to use the Apple Card to finance new products from Apple. What if I want to use my iTunes balance, and my Apple Card?

Given that other retailers offer discounts on Apple products, maybe this will be how Apple offers discounts without actually putting anything on sale.

ROFLMAO

Apple.... putting something on sale..... it's just a hilarious thought.

Granted Black Friday and Back To School sales are about the only times they do anything, and its usually not really even a sale so much as a gift with purchase that has gotten worse over the years, and the discounts weren't usually Apple hardware.
