Does anyone know if there's an option anywhere to hide recently added albums? Can't find a way to get rid of it and it doesn't go away after a period of time as far as I can tell

I believe this is what you are looking for:

I hope Yosemite is not required to sync iOS 8 when released. None of my desktops can run 10.10.
If so I'll have to fire up parallels to sync via Windows XP for iOS 8. :(

I bricked my iPhone so bad yesterday trying to update to the 8 GM that I needed to go to the Apple store for a fix. I even tried to AppZap iTunes 12 and two other computers and had no luck.

Anyone know if I can safely try again?

:apple:

It didn't brick your phone. You just needed to use RecBoot to get yourself out of DFU mode (if your phone was stuck on the Lightning cable icon like mine was). Took 3 seconds.

What about all the people next week who will be using Mavericks to update and setup iOS 8? Yosemite won't be out for another month....

Looks like they've tweaked the fonts and various other little things. Looks very nice, I must say!

The top toolbar isn't translucent, but the sidebar is. Overall fits the new look of Yosemite quite well.

Can someone do a FINAL CONFIRMATION that this updated beta of iTunes 12 on yosemite will NOT brick my phone during ios8 update?

I miss my side bar :( dragging dropping, while largely the same, music from my library to my devices is a bit more fiddly now with the way it pops up.

I successfully restored my phone using this beta.

Be advised that although it was successful for myself and at least one other person, this is BETA software. Do not install this beta if you depend on iTunes for day to day use (not a testing environment) and for that matter, the same is true for iOS 8. Even though it is GM at this point, it is not public and Apple still advises not to install on anything except a dedicated test device.

Is Yosemite really slow for anyone else? Everything takes so long to respond. Also, for some reason, Xcode DP6 just doesn't open on it, bouncing forever on the Dock. It might be related to the setup assistant crashing when I tried to take a photo (I redid it without a problem).

Is Cmd-L fixed? Does it remember views through restarts?

What exactly about CMD+L?
It works, but it does not bring back the state that was chosen previously but shows the current track in the currently chosen view.

However remembering views thorugh restarts seems fixed, visible playlists too! finally :)

It is normal for Xcode to take a long time to launch (the first time). It's actually gatekeeper/quarantine scanning all of the files it loads at launch (it's a lot). Once you've approved the launch (the "are you sure you want to open this, it's fron the 'net" message), it will launch quickly from that point on. The experience won't be like that once they make public though the App Store. For me it takes 2-3 minutes the first time, and I'm on an SSD. If you aren't on an SSD/flash storage I could easily see 5+minutes (probably much longer).

Thanks. That's strange, considering that I have Gatekeeper disabled. I only wish I knew this before I wiped Yosemite to be replaced with Mavericks :/ But it was slow in general, so maybe I would have wiped it anyway.

Was worried if I'd ever be able to use my phone again yesterday. One of the very rare ocassions Windows has actually been useful...:D

I never knew there was a recently added, excellent news for people like myself who arrange their music by order added. cant wait.

IOS 8 and Yosemite

Running GM of yosemite and IOS 8. STILL no Dutch Siri!
12 dialects in swahili but NO Dutch.
Phone handover? No way, doesnt work. And so are 3 other promissed futures. What it DOES do is slowing your iphone down VERY much! But nothing new there. It always does when there is coming a new iphone, the trash your old one :)

Slightly adjusted album view. Date is no longer in parentheses, line separating the title and content, "Songs / In The Store" has been changed to a singular "More from the store" link.
