I'm sure it works, and the integration may be nice, but its not my cup of tea, but then if you're ok with the looks of it, then what does it matter - enjoy :)

Yah it's my work phone so looks are really secondary to being able to have an extra long or intense day without plugging in. By extra long day I mean where I put in a full 8 hours and THEN I have to do a systems release. The kind of days for which God created Red Bull.

Now for my personal 6s Plus I get all the purty purple girly girl cases.

yeah the only thing you're missing is the 6s does NOT last all day for many people. Hence 400 mah would make it last all day for some instead of dying at 5-6pm.

Right. They should have just made it 1mm thicker then and solved everyones problems. Duh, can't believe they made that oversight, fools! You should write to Tim Cook.

Just to give folks some real world usage so far for this case (I'm not here to debate the aesthetics or price of the case as I'm a firm believer in to each their own)... I use my iPhone pretty intensively during the day. Location services always on (Waze, Apple Maps - commute over an hour each way everyday) Streaming XM, Apple Music, corp email on push, brightness at about 80%, phone calls constantly etc. Normally, with my 6s, I would barely make it to the end of the day after an overnight full charge . I also have an AW and rely on my iPhone to see my blood sugar readings that are pushed from my Continuous Glucose Sensor so battery life is very important.

I got the case on Tuesday evening. Wife took it to NYC Wednesday for a day trip and easily made it through the day. I charged the case and my 6s on Wednesday evening to 100%. Right now (11:06 EST) I have 9hr 44 min of usage and 24hr 10 min of standby. My battery is at 43%.

I can still use my 6s dock, lightning cable and don't need a separate mini USB to charge. More importantly, with the case, I know I can easily make it through the day (likely 2) before having to charge.

I'm a fan.

It's really not as ugly in person as it seems in the photos. Plus the functionality is genuinely brilliant.

That isn't to say id have personally landed this design myself, but the design makes sense based on what the case can do.

That Mophie case definitely looks a lot bulkier than the Apple Battery case. The mophie case looks like something I would bring along on an extended camping trip where I know I will have no ready access to power, but not something I would like for normal everyday use.

The primary reason why I never considered using a Mophie case on my 4s or 5s was primarily because I felt it looked like crap.

The Apple battery case seems to be the reverse here. The battery life it offers is less, and that's fine because it should still prove sufficient for someone to last their iPhone through a normal day. You are likely looking at someone whose iPhone 6 is probably at 20% by 4 pm, and the case should let them extend that till at night, just nice for a recharge. Between the two, the Apple case would probably fit into my pants pocket a lot easier than a Mophie case, and I would have less qualms about walking around with the former in my pocket all day.

I think it is safe to conclude that the people Apple is trying to attract here are not die-hard Mophie fans, and focusing strictly on specs like "extra battery life" tells only one very lopsided part of the story.

like most on here, i tend to agree that its just hideous at first sight and still is. Its butt that sticks out? have fun wearing dress pants or slacks and going to a club or sitting down with them

lol Mophies never felt cheap. Im not sure what you're looking for. An aluminum battery case? surely anything else would make the phone inconveniently heavy.

Just got mine today as a gift. I like the design much better in person. When I first saw the release I laughed, but seeing it in person and on my 6s, I actually like the feel and comfort of the whole thing. I'm only concerned about the battery life in the phone with this case - I am switching from a mophie and the lack of an on/off switch is worrying me.

I know everyone is saying the on/off switch on the mophie is more of a management nuisance than anything (and I do agree about that), I feel that it ensures that the phone battery is not always 'relying' on its external battery. I'm worried that if I keep this new Apple battery case on my phone 24/7 (which I plan on doing, since I am using it as both a case and battery) it will negatively impact my new 6s battery life if/when I ever switch to another case. Anyone have any advice for this worry? Other than that, I do really enjoy the case. I like the iOS integration.
