I don't see the issue with the design at all, that you seem to. It looks like a good product for what it is designed. There is already an entire ecosystem of assistive MagSafe accessories that serve this function, most of which also don’t require removing the accessory to charge the phone, at around 25% of the price. The obvious, cynical sales pitch here is the “designer” label.

It looks 100% exactly like the brackets we have on IV poles here at the hospital I work at. Just needs a set screw. They even have that recycled plastic look.
Inspired by modern sculpture, my ass; it was inspired by Stryker and STERIS. 😂
Gotta love ripping off people with disabilities. They are often known for being the richest people in our society who love buying high-end fashion accessories.Due to manufacturing volume, probably made for less than a $1 via injection molded process but sold for $69.95 because customers like to be ripped off.
Simple solution, don't buy it and move on!!!!It is remarkable that a company known for such precision and restraint can also approve something that looks this clumsy. The accessory feels more like a student sculpture experiment than a considered design. I genuinely wonder what Jony Ive would think if he saw it
Remember when people began copying the icon of this absurd app?I Give it 2 days before someone copies the design and makes it available to 3d print.
Orient the iPhone vertically and it can play one of the guys in a Clockwork Orange...Any chance to make it uglier?
K. $4 BOM cost then. Including labour. There are extra processes to make it work with MagSafe. Not saying the margin is not still high, just pointing out that $1 won’t cover it. The magnet probably costs more than the moulded part.
They had to reassign the Siri developers somewhere...Who is making these decisions at apple? Did the entire leadership team have a stroke or something?
Oh come now. Apple only ever sells a few very specifically curated products in their stores, and they advertise even fewer. This isn't some random cardboard iPhone case being sold at Wal Mart.To be fair, there isn't an Apple logo on the product...it's a Hikawa brand product being sold at the Apple Store. I'm sure grocery stores sell food you might find repulsive, but do you blame the store?
They did. It used to be a soccer ball.kill it (or melt it) with fire
Anyone who's ever seen the price for a wheelchair, prosthetic leg, or even a shower-seat is very well aware that ripping disabled people off is a centuries-old tradition.Gotta love ripping off people with disabilities. They are often known for being the richest people in our society who love buying high-end fashion accessories.
Actually this piece of junk will not even be sold to physically disabled people.Anyone who's ever seen the price for a wheelchair, prosthetic leg, or even a shower-seat is very well aware that ripping disabled people off is a centuries-old tradition.
You probably noticed from my original comment that I have no intention of buying it, so you do not really need to point that out, though I appreciate the suggestion.Simple solution, don't buy it and move on!!!!
There are already a billion accessories to help grip an iPhone which are not (1) so ugly; (2) blatantly appealing to some "designer" nonsense"; and (3) crazily overpriced.Perhaps someone who has difficulty gripping an iPhone but wants to use one?
I do think it is overpriced.
Indeed - ugliest accessory ever for the ugliest iPhone ever. What is this?? It's so ugly. I must say it completes the iPhone 17 Pro.
